I've had my car for about 5 years. I've only had to replace the t/o bearing, and the intake manifold. Its been a good car, until now.

The car started miss firing, and after a lot of thought, we found the problem. Theres oil leaking into one of my spark plug holes, the one closest to the pass. seat.

My uncle owns a shop, he looked at it and at first thought it might be a valve cover gasket leaking but he said it wasn't, its a problem to do with the heads or something. And he said it would be expensive to fix because its a big mess, and that he didnt even want to deal with it.

I leave for basic in two weeks, ill have over 10k when I get back. I'm debating on just paying to fix the problem, and putting new heads and a bigger cam in when I do that. Or just buying a 4.6 crate motor brand new for like 2500$....

Any opinions, or fixes, or help. THANKS

how many miles on the motor?
+1. These engines have a pretty good track record for reliability, minus COPs and intake crossover problems.

Screw the crate motor... get an aluminator block ($650), swap over your internals (or get forged bits), and put a Trick Flow top end on it ($2k). Shed over 50 lbs off the front end while gaining at least 50hp.

just curious how long do you go over seas for?

I wold do new heads+cams+gaskets and call it a day.... (and a tune of course) You can save some of that 10k for other things... like FI :)

so i was reading on another site and read that if your pcv valve gets clogged, pressure can build in your engine an it can force oil to leak out of gaskets or seals..

could that be? and can anyone help me find out all the different possibilities of what could be leaking to get oil in the plug hole. that way i can start with the easiest ones to check first. thank yall for the info and help.. just trying to get my car running right againn

Your PCV line is that L shaped line coming out of the valve cover. Is it the passenger or drivers side head?
