numbers and mods and details aside you will still make more power out of a v8 than a v6 with the same mods.
Not really. I know of several blown v8's on this site that are slower than me. So whats your point?? dyno numbers mean squat to me son.:D

ok first im not your son. second off if anyone knows that numbers mean squat its me. I HAD a v6 and yes rolled a few gt's in my day as well. But any way you slice it a v8 mustang has more potential than a v6 mustang. Plain and simple.

I am going to take you under my wing as if you were my son...k??

No it's not as plain as black and white. Lets do it like this...post your track times and i will post mine and we'll see who's faster. I really dont like to ride anyones nuts...thats why I only speak on my car.... So???

edit...explain rolled a few gt's??

i dont drag race, i autocross and track race. and yes i agree this is beating a dead horse. but also please note that i never put down anyones v6. i have nothing bad to say about the v6 at all. And not once did i ever say my current car is faster than anyone else. Im just tryin to help codeman. if you can afford the car and the insurance i personally feel like a v8 is a better investment. JT im sure your car hauls, no disrespect at all.

again: a "v8" is not the end all.... No matter what you do your going to get to a bridge where crossing over is going to start costing thousands of dollars...

I mean think about it... cobra cams (4 of them) cost 1100$+ , where a camshaft for our cars are between 180$-300$. Most people here [in this section of the forum] could read through a push rod cam swap and save money, but would need to take it to the shop for a 4 valve. [I've done cams in a 4v its not fun]

Same with most other stuff long tubes require more work to install, and the list goes on and on.

I appreciate anything modded, an 11second 60mm civic ex ITR swapped "grocery getter" and 11 second paxton charged 99 cobra whatever it is. Potential stops when you don't wish to spend more money.

Otherwise the answer/advice I would give everyone in the v6 section would be: Sell your car and buy a 98-02 f body. It will run mid 12s with a cam, long tubes, exhaust, gears, and tires, and get 20-23mpg! You can generally find those parts on tech dirt cheap, and you can get them for 5k, oh and push rod pretty easy to work on also.

ok well i tried to make nice but if you guys want to start stepping on toes then go right ahead. im bowing out of this thread.
