OK i need someone to tell me how i can remove the panel with the a/c vents. i'm thinking about making a mount for my iphone to sit in. Any ideas?

IDK about your model, but on the new edge, you seriously just tub at it till it pops out... just figure out where the tabs are

idk... maybe find a duarble belt clip type phone holder and then make a bracket to hold it from the back

i would try to fab up something like this, with the cigatette plugged in to the phone behind it.
I dont know much about audio for the car, but this is how i would try to fit it just off the top of my head

im not trying to mount it permanently i want it to be removeable and ill just run it off the battery power. but maybe i could cut a hole in between the 2 vents and secure the holder with some L brackets and tie down the plug in and connect inside there then put a push start button or something to fill that nasty hole
