in california any tint is illegal on the front 2 windows. the reason is because if a cop needs to break into your car the film holds the glass togeather and it is harder to get it out

Any aftermarket tinting of the windshield or front side windows is indeed illegal in the state of CA. But it has nothing to do with there being a film on the windows. You are allowed to install un-tinted film on them that reduces UV rays.

The reason is that it is difficult (and sometimes impossible depending on how dark the tint is) to see into the vehicle. It is solely for the protection of police officers pulling cars over not being able to see if the persons in the car are wielding guns or other weapons.

nah watts is not that ghetto no more all the gangstas from the 90s aree old or dead so watts is not that hardcore no more i live here all my life and im 24.... But yeah i have limo tint on all my windows and yet no prolems with popo

I highly recommend the windshield strip.. when ur in the car it feels like ur in a race car haha, ur visibility is not affected, its better than sun glasses when it comes to the sun....and looks like sex

IMO, something is wrong with you if you want to become a cop.

I only respect those who aren't dicks and don't abuse the job.
That's pretty harsh to say bro. I'm thinking about becoming an officer, my grandfather was an officer, and my gf's Dad is the Chief of Sac PD. You should choose your words more carefully...

Depends on your position. If you want to become a traffic officer... hope you don't abuse it to bits. If you want to become a state trooper...different story, just don't abuse it like the officer who pulled over a porn star for speeding etc... you probably know the rest.

It just all depends on your position and how you go about doing the job.

I live by two cops and I talk to them all the time, though one works inside with the inmates, while the other is a beach patrol cop in the domestic part of the job, not traffic. Both are respectful and generous...

I am just pointing at those who abuse the job and act like dick's or king of the road everyday...not all officers as I already said.

Like I said though, choose your words a bit more carefully. Saying "You're nuts if you wanna be an officer," is just insane. If you would've said "Don't be one of those cops that abuses their power," then I would totally agree w/ you. I agree, there are a lot of bad cops out there, however, most of them are good. It's the few bad cops that make ALL cops look bad. You see stuff like the Seattle cops that punched a girl in the face, and that's when people start assuming ALL cops are like that. It's sad that that's how it works but it's reality.

My bad... I was aiming directly at traffic officers, because becoming one of them is kinda of...well crazy, that's because everyday a cop dies. Now why would you want to do that kind of job when your pay is crap, plus you might get killed.

I get pulled over every once in a while by a traffic cop and I hardly ever get the ticket because I am respectful and usually I get respect back, plsu I have a good driving record. But every once in a couple I will get pulled over by a hard headed asshole and when I am nice and respectful all I get is ****, and most of the time its over stupid things. Maybe he had a bad day...or his marriage is crap... but why take it out on me..?

Yes that is true, but there pay is quite better then what you think... CHP (California Highway Patrol for those wondering) gets starting pay at like $60-$80k a year. That's damn good. Also, by the time you hit Lieutenant, you make over $100k a year. Not to mention, if you are on the force for however long it takes to max out your pension, most places is 30 years, you get 90% of your top salary for the rest of your life! That's still damn good. And lastly, if you do get killed on the job, and you have kids, their schooling is paid for. Sounds like you can't go wrong at all being a cop.

That's probably why they make the pay in California and death benefits look so good is to bribe you to work for them, that's if your willing to endanger yourself.

I would rather live to see my kids grow up than to endanger myself of being killed. Who wants a dead father...hardly anyone. But if your lucky you might just survive the job and live happily ever after.

What's the percentage in California of a cop being killed?

8 Officers died last year in CA, and nation wide there were 120 deaths. That's less then 7% of all deaths among officers. 4 of them were from Oakland which is NOT the place to be an officer IMO. And there was 1 Highway Patrol death last year. If you ask me, yes it is a dangerous profession, but it's well worth it. You also have to factor in that some deaths could be caused from illness contracted from a suspect, accidental firearm discharge, and an officer having a heart attack or other health related attack.

I have 5 percent in all my windows except my winshiled. Usualy I dont drive with my windows up unless its on the highway. I8acmro if you want to become a officer go right ahead bro. I have been thinking about applying for chp but havnt really got the motivation to do it. MY girlfriends neighbor is a chp officer and i will probably ask him if I can do some ridealongs with him just to see if thats what I want to do.

my parents live in ohio and i live in florida. When i got the new 2011 in ohio i got the front windows 20% and everything else limo and i have not had one problem. in florida they could care less and in ohio if they catch u speeding they may say something about it but do what was said earlier, ACT STUPID. the cops will usually tell u to take it off, say u will and then leave. the ticket fee in florida for tinted windows is 50$ and the fee in ohio is 25 so its really not that bad.
