I think it looks pretty good. Definitely the best $11 mod so far IMO

Just took them off. cleaned them. sanded them. and painted them with a few coats of semi-gloss. ive done it before with friends wheels and had great luck.

What kind of paint did you use/process involved? How'd you sand those? Does it last well? I wanted black wheels for my car, but that would be much cheaper, plus I already have the 19's. A little black and gold Stang would look awesome! I'm planning on getting a CDC chin spoiler next year sometime too, yours looks nice! Is yours lowered?

i used semi-gloss automotive spray paint. got a few cans from advance auto parts. i cleaned them with some wheel cleaner, then sanded them with some 220 sandpaper. then blew them off with the air hose and used a tack rag to wipe them down. then painted them. dont bother masking off the tires, you wont even notice if a little overspray gets on them and its a pain in the butt to get the tape to stick. do a few coats to get it to cover well. it should last well. like i said, friends have had good luck.

and nope my vehicle isnt lowered yet. ill be getting the steeda sport springs next. lowers it an inch in the front and 1.25" in the back.

Much more gooder. I like it. Now some black lugnuts and black out the GT emblem to match your black pony and it would be fap-a-licious.

thanks guys!

i used some wheel cleaner and cleaned the wheels really well. then i sanded them with some 220 grit sand paper scuffing them up so the spray paint would stick. and then i just painted them with a few coats. ill be adding on another couple coats to each wheel this weekend to make sure its good. for paint, i used automotive semi-gloss duplicolor. but any automotive paint would work. semi-gloss, semi-flat, satin, etc.

did you use any clear on them? I've tried using semi gloss black before on my 06 but it water spotted up real bad. So I ended up sanding the top coat off and adding a couple more coats of semi gloss before clearing it 4-5 times and that stopped the waterspots.

i havent cleared them yet. i am going to give it a couple more coats of semi-gloss this weekend then clear of them all.

Yeah I think my rims are getting the same treatment when I get back. Of course I have to stop driving it for a couple of days first which might be the biggest problem :D

But it looks great man. Add some more pics when you get the clear on.

NEW PICS ADDED!!!!!!!

thanks guys! glad ive inspired others to do it B)

btw ive decided not to do the clear coat, at least for now. i dont want a gloss to the wheels, i really like the finish they are right now. i washed the car yesterday and got got no water spots and it also rained and got no water spots. also, i didnt do really heavy coats so its less likely to chip. if it does, then later on ill paint over them again with another coat and clear them at that point, but for now, this is how they will be.
