sacremento raceway? **** man im going there next wednesday, my friends drove his red and white f350 there last wednesday, remember it?

Glad you're getting the parts sorted out.

It's not always 100% about the setup of the car however.

You are not getting enough weight transfer coming off the line.
(maybe your car is lowered with stiffer suspension - I don't know - can't tell by the video)
You are hitting the tires too hard initially, which creates too much spin followed by a slight bogging (your car should lunge aggressively forward after the tires hook).

I think maybe you are dropping the clutch a little too fast maybe (?).

Good luck. I'm sure you'll be able to improve your short game and that should transfer into some mid-12 second slips!

Nice car BTW.

Thanks saxman, I am in the process of tweaking the suspension right now to find the sweet spot in tire press, shock settings, launch rpm, and instant center. I am running fox rear springs which are like 160 rate and front coilovers with 14-175 springs. It looks like the front end is dropping a little and the rear end is unloading most likely causing the tire spin. Once I get it dialed in, there should be no spin or bogging off the line at this power level.

I can try letting the clutch out a little slower next time vs a straight drop to see if there is any improvement.

Yeah, if I were you I would do everything the same, except slip the clutch out a little slower and see if that helps.

I hate talking about myself but this is what I do:

Run the revs up to 5200, when the last yellow comes on I slip the clutch as I smoothly push the gas pedal to the floor so that the clutch is all the way out when the gas pedal is floored. It looks like my first 10 feet of my run is not that fast, but I come out smoothly. Then the car leaps up briefly, sometimes pulling the front tires a touch off the ground. If I get wheelspin it is usually just a brief chirp. The car lunges hard and then just pulls smoothly. The front end comes down while I'm still in first gear. Doing it this way I'm almost always cutting 1.75 60' times with my best being a 1.72.

I don't think you need to let anymore air out of the tires, although I've never tried the QTPs (so I guess I don't know LOL). I usually run with 14PSI (+/- 1PSI depending on the track conditions) in my M/T ET Street Radials. Remember, when you let too much air out of the tires, it can actually hurt your launch because the middle section of the contact patch goes away (the outside of the tires are making contact but not the middle of the tires).

If you can loosen up the struts a little bit (I don't know if you can) that will help with the weight transfer.

Best of luck. I'm sure you'll be knocking off 12.50s with a little practice.

What shocks?? I'm runnin the same rear spring in mine with eibach drags out front. put some air-lift a1000 drag bags in the rears and it helped a lot.

1.6's would be bad ass on that setup. I've been 1.73 on my stalled auto. Would love to cut a 1.6x, but dont think it's got it in it. I'm running nitto 555r 245/50-16 and I can make them dead hook.

^ May I ask why you are riding he clutch. You must be putting some serious power down to lift the tires once you have rolled 10 feet.

What stall are you running?

I think he just explained his launching method a little confusing. He is also running the MT drag radials, which I could see how slipping the clutch a little might help if he was still getting tire spin. I don't think clutch slipping is gonna prove beneficial or necessary on these hoosiers once the suspension is dialed in.

I am running Strange adjustables on all four corners.

I know guys that are cutting 1.4xx with similar suspension on their fox bodies and a couple guys in the 1.5-1.6 range on the sn95 platform. The only difference would be them having an ARB and more power

That was my way of questioning him. Do you know how much power it takes to pick the tires up from a dig let alone from a roll. The MT DRs would hook my old car with a 150 shot of gas running 7.70and cutting 1.57 60' times. Grant you it had some wheel spin which is a good thing with low power cars.

I don't know how far out it picks up the tires when it does do that. Maybe it's only when the car dead hooks which it will do sometimes, and only sometimes will the tires come up a LITTLE bit (maybe an inch).

Not trying to be an ass but I really dough that the car is pulling the tires I am on full slicks and dont hardly pull the tires with 630rwhp on a lighter can and all. I see you time is a 12.90 which is a nice time but far from lifting tires post pics if you can and I will eat my words. (been in racing to long)

These cars can pull the front tires up a hair on a dead hook without having a ton of power, it's not very common though and very rarely ever happens at this power level.

never seen them do it just sayin. At different tracks all the time all Im asking for it a pic.
