Got a 2000 GT w/ 4.6L 5spd manual. I put a 2000W amp and sub in the car.......
It's died three times on me now. It happens as soon as I push my clutch in and it doesn't matter how fast I'm going. I had it die on me when i was doing 50mph and didn't even notice it til i looked down and saw all my engine lights on.......All three times, I've had the A/C running (not on full blast). The first two times I had the stereo on but the third time I did not have it on. I thought maybe I was pulling too much power from my battery to power the amp and A/C at the same time, but apparently this isn't the case. I've also noticed that when coming to a stop I push the clutch in and the RPM gauge kinda bounces around instead of having a constant idle.........this happens a lot with the A/C and amp on, but also happens occasionally with neither on.......
Any Ideas?????

Clean ur IAC too. Sounds like what happened w/ my GT before I knew how to clean the IAC. I don't have a massive amp like that, but it sounds identical to my old problem.

it could be the iac. however, having a system in my car i believe you need a 200+ amp alternator. when i had the stock alternator, i could press my window buttons fast and it would turn the car off. I got a 200+ amp alternator and a optima yellow top battery and never had a problem again.

A decent 2000 watt amplifier draws a metric **** ton of amperage when being cranked. If you can't afford to upgrade your alternator and battery, at least put a 5 farad capacitor on the system.
Unfortunetly, people refer to their amps in terms of MAX power which is never achieved. Max power actually isn't a measured number. The company takes the RMS power and multiplies it by a constant to get max power (I know b/c I used to work at Harman).

His "2000W" amp is most likely pulling around 500Wrms. 2000W is equal to ~150A.
