lets see 550hp and the ability for a 4 liter whipple or something i wouldnt really be able to mod. hmmm tough choice here...

In all fairness cpt robert....we can throw a bell s/c on my car and make it dance a dyno to 700rwhp....but how many times am I gonna be able to do that. It's still a cast rotating assembly....right? No for real I'm asking, I'm assuming it is. And its at such a high compression ratio already....its not really f/i friendly from what I can tell. You might be able to squeek by with 7 psi, but for how long?

As I understand it, Ford has already made provisions for the coyote to be force fed and/or direct injected. Many of us had our doubts about the 4.6 when they became the V8 for Mustangs. As far as which to choose, I had to(old and married) choose the GT with Old Fart pkg(loaded auto) to be a little more practical(this time:).

Don't you think you're being a little silly? Not everyone has the same preferences as you, in fact most of us don't. There's not really a right or wrong in this but it's coming across that you really think there is.
Of course there's not a right or wrong in this. But almost everyone's just blindly nutswinging on the Shelby, and I like poking holes in that kind of fanboyism ;)

I do think it's funny you come after me for my supposed attitude, when I literally got told to slap myself for being stupid just because I don't lust after the GT500.

I just wanna chip in and say I never called you stupid, but it sounds like you have some hidden/mixed feeling about your own opinion:stickpoke
for being stupid
...you said it, not me...:D

All I know is that the 2011 is ugly and I test drove one the other day and I hated every minute of it. The interior looks nice but thats about it. I have an 09 GT with CAI, Kooks LT headers, catted x, Corsa cat-backs, and tune and the "butt-dyno" likes it way more than the 5.0. The clutch in the 5.0 drove me nuts more than anything. I put my foot on it and it dropped right to the floor. There is absolutely no resistance in the clutch what-so-ever. I guess it would just take some getting used to but I really didn't like it.

If it was me personally though, I'd rock a taurus SHO for a DD and build a nasty fox for the track

the clutch in the 5.0 is very sensitive. course I'm new to stick driving so idk what u guys would say. I love my car but id rather do the gt500 if i had a chance.

This argument is like saying Whats better real or fake? ( No need for further explanation) they are both awesome!!
Umm I rather have sex with a real girl eager then a guy pretending to he one, but that's just me. Lol jp

Honestly man just get what ever you want. As long as your happy who the **** cares! An if your planing to buy a CAR because people say one or the other, eek don't buy.

I am with the Reverend 100% on this one. In a year you will be able to pick up a used 5.0 for 22-25K in where the Shelby will still hold its value at around 35K. The pre 2011 GT500's have a heavy ass iron block and an sloppy suspension to boot. Roush destroyed the GT500 in the corners with less power. I will gladly trade 85 hp for a few hundred lbs off the curb weight any day. Power to weight ratios make a huge diference. Plus once you force feed that 5.0 you will have plenty of HP to destroy people. Did anyone notice the 5 liter running 12's and under???? Without F/I mind you. I love a Shelby but I like my money even more. Never pay for a name.
