I wish mine was an install error :(

I triple checked that damn thing and torqued all the bolts perfectly to the T. Anyone have any ideas what could cause the clutch to drag? Maybe they sent me the wrong size discs or the floater ring is bent. It gets really bad as the clutch gets hot.

Not to thread jack but Its the same clutch, might as well have 2 diff problems in one thread lol.
If the clutch tool wasn't used properly and the pressure plate drags on the splines as the pedal is pushed? If it wasn't perfectly lined up when torqued, it will drag. Maybe a possibility?

could be, but when hot it drags whether the pedal is pushed or not.

I gave up with aftermarket clutch systems. I buy low mileage stockers. At my power level I get a season, maybe two out of them. I tried a spec2+--ha! What a POS. "Bleed the system, bleed the system" was all Spec could tell me. Stockers work. Period. I'm pulling that soon and sticking one of my last two used stock clutches in--that should last me through the end of the racing season here in MD.

I am pretty sure I am well beyond what a stock clutch would handle... you must have a way to do the install them because I don't have a lift and with the blower on top it isn't a driveway job..
I killed a spec 2 as well but I was only at 450/490 then... 550/600 is a different animal all together... plus I an a fat ass driving a heavy vert.. alot to ask from a clutch

UPDATE!!!
got the car back and it is perfect... just have to learn the clutch again.. going from mashed pedal to about 3" down is going to take some time...
Funny thing... the design of the adapter plate of the RXT changed from the time I bought mine till the time they replaced it... if you go back and look at the second pic look at the two bolts that hold the clutch to the adapter.. now it is a solid bar that runs between them and a little past... gee, you think they had a little design flaw?

Nasty, is yours a solid bar or the two bolt nubs like 2006Grey's was?

I guess I'm not afraid to try the solid bar version. :yes

They fixed mine too and are sending it back as we speak, ill let you know when i get it if they updated my adapter ;) My floater ring ended up being bent, but they have great customer service so all i payed for was shipping back to them. Just kind of annoying to have to deal with dropping the tranny 3 times now.

Are you doing it on a lift or what is your setup?

Yea on a lift, no tranny jack though. Makes it interesting. I should have just got the harbor freight one for 80 bucks, especially after doing it twice haha.
Post pictures of what your new clutch looks like. Do you have an email for Lee at McLeod? I actually think I might be having this problem. As of just recently, some times it'll get stuck in 1st and 3rd gear and I'll have to rip it into neutral. Are you going to replace the slave again or no?

Yeah it seems like this ****ing thread jinxed me! **** YOU ALL! LOL It's only done it maybe a handful of times but... ****!
That sucks bigtime...I'm sorry to hear that.

The worst part is you replacing the P-51 to fix a problem and getting another problem on account of a poor design.

Well, at least they have it sorted now.
