well I want to buy something I just dont have much cash and need something reliable
Modding Cheaply + Reliable usually don't go hand in hand. If you supercharge it it's going to put more strain on other parts, so you're going to have to choose

1) Leave it stock / basic bolts on (Cold Air Intake, Exhaust, etc)

2) Mod it but go the cheap route at first (i.e. turbo/supercharge but skimp on rear end, etc) and have to end up putting more money into it later

3) Mod it and spend a lot of money, but get it right.

If you knew how to do everything yourself you could mod it cheaper, but you still have to pay to play when it comes to cars.

If I were you, I'd go with the 1st option and just drive your car until you have the money for a new car (whether it be a GT similar body style or a new V6)
Just my $.02

I already did option 1 so next up is option 3

why do people underrate our cars so bad? 170rwhp? thats like 98 and before...

Dude...I bought my '02 Mineral Gray GT about a year ago with 92k on the clock for $7,500 plus another $2,500 for a FULL COVERAGE powertrain warranty for 36mo/36,000 miles. That warranty covers a ton too. My motor for my power windows went out about three weeks ago. Filed a claim with the warranty company and they sent me a check for a new OEM Ford Part, I installed it myself, and went on my merry way without a penny out of my pocket. Exactly how many miles were on your V6 when you bought it? I really feel like you should have just shopped more for a good GT. The 2v 4.6 is know for its longevity. That's why I didn't think twice about buying one with 92k. I guess it's coulda shoulda woulda now. So my recommendation is to either keep this one stock and a good DD until you can save up for a GT and just do a few visual mods in the meantime (but nothing ricey) like maybe smoked headlamps and tailamps and then maybe sequentials. OR. Go ahead and start looking for a SN95 at a cheap price, trade yours and then do a PI swap.

Wow are you guys rough. It would be good if some of these newbies would read a few books about motor basics and lurk on the board for awhile before posting some inane question. From what I read this guy is not interested in performance, he's interested in making noise and profiling. Nothing wrong with that, except that he won't get what he really wants from modding his six. I would buy some nice wheels, lower it and enjoy it. I'll bet he not going to race this car on a drag strip or road course so really what difference is a few seconds slower going to make?

Point well made sir.

thats depressing
isn't it :D....

Ok OP im going to give you a great piece of advice that helped me out when i had my 6er...don't try to make it a GT wannabe...instead just make it a badass v6...hell i was proud it was a 3.9 :yes..i even had 3.9L v6 on the hood scoop to advertise to the civic's that were next to me so they would know what just beat them

only around what...7% of the 6er's here can hold their own against a stock to lightly modded GT...and even fewer can run built GTs or stock cobra's...i respect anyone that puts that effort into their car, but we know that most people that talk about slapping on a SC or TC never do because they think it's a piece of cake until they look closer into it...it takes work to get these cars quick...Ask ESG or Six Banger

Thanks for bringing my thread back to tell me I should quit. But except for the GT part I already figured the rest out and since I'm in college I am just going to get some decent scoops paint them along with the wheels black, then save up for a 5.0 unless I find some cheap parts I quit and there is no point in modding that

and, btw. you were mentioning exhaust for your 6...I give props to any V6 that can recreate this sound. It's actually impressive to me.
