Hey all, I'm thinking about getting tints on my silver 2000.

What % tints would you all suggest? I've also heard the rear windshield has something near the top which prevents tinting that far. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Thanks

I like the smoked look, not the completely murdered out tint. I'd stick with 35%, but you may want to get a little darker since you're in FL and I'm sure your car gets a lot hotter than mine

I had 20% but got pulled over for it. Started ripping it off the windows before the cop even came to my window. He saw me pulling it off and just let me go. Now I have 35% because thats what is legal here. FL doesn't have tint laws does it? In my opinion it all depends on the color of the car for the % you go with. I have a silver one so I went 20%. 15% seemed like it would be too dark and make the windows "stick out" whenever someone looked at my car and thats not what I wanted.

Uhh.. why would you start ripping it off before he even came up? That's probably the only reason he actually noticed it.

if you have a dark interior get 20% if you have light go 15%
This.
I went 20% all around with light interior and wish it was just a bit darker.

If you do get pulled over with tint roll down both your windows and turn on the dome light. Cops don't like not being able to see what you're doing in your vehicle and it can often put them in danger. They're a lot more likely to be friendly about the tint if it doesn't pose a threat to them.
