Went a week ago to the 1/8th mile track and i ran some pretty sad times. 1st off i dont know if it is the track, track prep, elevation or what but compared to everyone's times they have in their sigs everything that runs @ my track has bad times compared to what ppl seem to run on the forums. Here are some examples.

Brothers 89 5.0 FOX= H/C/I, 3.73 gear, CAI, full exhaust ran a best of 8.93

Someone's black 5.7L GTO 6 spd= sounded like it had full exhaust, CAI, and a tune best of 8.78

Buddies blue 5.7L GTO 6spd= SLP exhaust, best of 9.3

SRT8 Chrysler 300C= sounded mean, prob had intake exhaust and maybe a tune best of 8.83

Buddies LT1 Trans AM= intake and exhaust best of 9.4
Trans AM after H/C/I and tune 9.19

My 04 stock with UDP's best of 9.4

Most stock 4.6 2V's that i have seen that run down there run 9.5-9.8's

Stock 05-09 3V's run around 9.3-9.6's

All the above times are on street tires.
Now when i went down there las thursday i spun SOOO bad. Temp was about 70* with about 20-30% humidity. I was on Sumi's 295's with about 1,000 miles on them. Tried different PSI's and burnout's and no burnouts and they did the best with about 15PSI and a small burn.

My mods= UDP's, CAI, O/R-X pipe, super 44's welded in, 3.73 gear, and 93 Breenspeed tune, stock suspension, and no weight reduction

ON MOTOR about 8 or 9 runs
I was taking about off just above idle (5 SPD) and soon as it got rolling id floor it but every time i went WOT in 1st it started spinning, rip 2nd and it would get sideways a little spinning, and spin a little in 3rd. Best times were from not going WOT until 2nd.

Best #'s
60's= 2.25
1/8th ET= 9.14
1/8th MPH= 83

ON SPRAY 2 runs
1st run= Same take off as on motor, started spraying it in 2nd as soon as it stopped spinning in 2nd. Spaying it in 3rd as well. Soon as the N20 hit it lifted up spinning, change to 3rd and same thing, i went through the lights sideways.
2nd run= started spraying as soon as i switched to 3rd gear. Still no good just spun all through 3rd spinning through the lights.

Best #'s
60's= 2.23 :mad:
1/8th ET= 9.52 :mad::mad:
1/8th MPH= 77 MPH :mad::mad::mad:

One of my buddie's (who actually can drive really well) who has had civics on nitrous, 2 past 5.0's and his current 93 5.0 was talking crap saying i was just dumping the clutch and could'nt drive so after i was convinced i would not get a better time i gave him the keys and said 3 runs. His 1st run he revved it to what sounded like around 2,500 RPMS while at the lights and held it waiting for the green, and i started laughing bc i knew what was about to happen:D
green light came on and he done a John Force burnout :lmao he spun all of 1st about a 1/4 of 2nd and a little of 3rd and wound up running a 9.7 something. His 2nd run he ran a 9.19 and the third he ran 9.15. Now he believes me how bad it spins.

Had a lotta fun but sad i could not even get it into the 8's even on the spray. I probably will not go back to the track till i get slicks n skinny's. My brothers car is S/C now and he has ran a 8.20 @ 82 MPH kinda funny i ran the same MPH but almost a full second slower ET.

Sumi's are a great cheap tire. But they are just that, cheap. Time for some NT05's!

Edit: I see you are just going to go big and get some big and littles. If I were you I would try to stick with a tall drag radial first. I've been watching a lot of racing latley and have really come around to the radial class. They run some sick times... Of coarse, you still can't go wrong with bias ply Mickey T's.

In the process of installing cams. When they are in and after i swap the N20 jets up a little and a dyno tune then il start on suspension and tires

we'll need more info to help you bro, elevation/etc.

times do seem slow.

Yeah everything seems slower @ my track, i think elevation is only 1,500 though. I think if i could hook i could get drastically better times, i mean im leaving @ idle almost and cant go WOT till 2nd. I have some upper & lower torque box reinforcer's sitting in my room waiting to be installed but ima wait till i get some LCA's so i dont have to remove them and the tail pipes 2 times. After cams it will be Laurel Mountain SFC's, some kind of LCA and slicks.

Ahh. Shitty. I always forget how lucky I am that its only about a hour round trip to my nearest 1/4 strip. About 2 hours for the nears roadcoarse though. Which sucks because its my first/true love. :p Been the the strip eleventy billion times and while I love it, still not as awesome as lapping a good roadcoarse or autocross track all day.

n/a with 4.10's, 5 spd, and nitto 555r 275/40-17 my buddy ran an 8.8 in the 1/8th. elevation is 14-1600 here.

You need tires and possiblly a bit more practice.

edit, actually he is on this site "nossit"
Yes i know this, everyone's times on here are way better than anything i have ever seen @ my track
