Ok, I am looking at getting a line lock for my car. I am just curious which one to go with. If you look at Jegs or summit they have so so so many. I want to get a cheap one, I don't care about brand or maybe having to bend some brake lines. I just want the same fittings. Which one would you guys recommend?

For the track. It will make it easier to do the burnout. It is kind of a pain to hold brake and gas and dump clutch. And then it is hard on the back brakes.

Lets see here...

you really don't have enough power to need drag radials...
And you don't really need a burn out on street tires..
So you really don't need a line lock..

Just sayin though.

Work on the free driver mod!

I don't have the power, but due to a track that does not prep very well I am hoping the DRs will help the car. I would rather spend some money on tires and see if they help. Then if they do I didn't waste a bunch on suspension mods that I didn't need. And I would be able to continue to use the DRs as I add power.

And I still have to spin the street tires. My local track it is impossible to drive around the water, so I have to spin the water off the tires.

It is not just me. There are some ppl on here on the drag section who go there. And they told me that it has always been like that. It is the closest one though and the next closest is about 2 more hours away. SO I am hoping with some better tires that I can hook up. That is why I want the line lock. It is just there are so many different choices. And does anyone know what size pipe threads our master cylinders are?

not trying to be rude, but why dont you keep saving for your sc or turbo that you have been saving for so that when you go to the track it is actually for a reason, i see absolutly no point in running a stock engine vehicle at the track unless that vehicle is like a corvette or a gt500 or cobra of some sort. Id keep saving because im pretty sure those tires wont help much, not to mention the line lock, you dont really need to hold the brake to do a burnout at all..

I won't be getting a turbo. I have some expenses coming up, getting a ring for my girl and then going to california this summer so that right there is the 2 grand I have saved up.

And I go to the track right now cuz I enjoy beating on my car and not going to jail. I know what you are saying, and would like to get a turbo but it is not reasonable for me to get one anytime soon. Maybe in the future I will be able to.

The point of taking a stock car to the track is to have fun... its like playing sports you can suck at it but still have a bunch of fun playing.

But yes I agree tires/line lock not gonna help him much... He will prob bog more than anything with drs.

Well that is for me to find out.

Back to my question, what size pipe thread is the nuts for the master cylinder? That way I can see which kit would work best?

There is a vendor on corral selling slp line locks for a good price if I remember correctly. And on the Mach 1 registry too I think.

The stock lines on your car aren't NPT. You'll use adapters at the line lock to convert to the correct flare fittings.

As far as recommending a brand of line locks, I've been running a pair of Biondo line locks on my XR7 since 2006 with no issues whatsoever.
