I am needing a set of tires. The tires on my car are 295/35/18 toyo proxes but i am looking for something that has a good tread wear but isnt gonna kill my wallet. What are some tires yall would recommend? Are sumitomos ok?

I went with Nexen N3000s and like them thus far.

From what I've read I expect about 40k out of them. They're cheap, amazing in the rain and otherwise decent. Don't expect super hard launches like you'd get with a DR out of them but you won't get that with any tire that will last this long.

They run about $120 a piece for around your size.

isnt nexen the same thing as nankang I had a set of nankangs brand new and burnt through them in 6 months rotating. Plus my car is lowered 2.5 inches do nexens do pretty good on lowered vehicles

No, nankangs are crap.

How well they do because you're lowered is mostly going to depend on what size tire you get honestly. With that low of an aspect ratio there shouldn't be much variance.

ok where is a place i can get them from also how what do yall think about the sumitomo's and the bfg g force

Ive had hankooks, Bf g-force and now nexens n3000 my car is lowered 1.25" so i dont think thats much help but they are a decent tire for everyday driving. Haven't used them for the track but people on here say there not the best but there in the 300+ per tire range so ill take my chances. Get them!!

Also my BFG were 295/35/18 i switched to 275/35/18 that I had on the front 295 were a bit to much for the car. 275 up front as well there ok for the rear i would have gone bigger but nexen dosent make them in a 285/35/18 size.

And Nexens are a Michilen tire not a nankangs.

They were a Michilen tire, I believe now they've branched off and are their own company.

Then why do i have a little Michilen dude thumbs up on the tread? Its on the side of the tread. IDK regardless they are good tires allot of people like them.
Because you probably have some from when they were under Michilen. Mine don't have that.

I agree though, for the price you can't get better.

nexxens are crap, i recommend a hankook, BFG, michilin or nitto.

The higher the speed rating the softer the rubber and the faster they burn up, same thing goes for lower speed ratings as they will chunk up and wear out, getting a good mid ranged all season tire is probably a good idea, but they dont have TOO many in that size you will be stuck going for a higher performance tire which are inherently going to burn off quicker as they have softer material

Dude i sell hankook tire the v12 are ok but for he money id just stick to nexens.

switch to a 285/35/18 they are more common and a little less money.

i was trying to find 295's for my rears when i got tires and had no luck finding a decent price on some, i ended up finding some 285/35/18's and matching 255's for the front in the Pirelli p zero rosso for $600, all new take offs.

search around craigslist too

295's on a 18x10 rim will have uneven treadwere the tire will where out in the center. or at lease thats what happen to me
Did you overinflate them?

Also Id do a 285 on the 18x10s.. I know it's not a big deal but it's what's recommended and I've never seen any tire wear problems with 285s on a 18x10.

I got a nexen n3000 and they are pretty good I only lose traction on sharp turns but thats probably because I have no t-loc

sumitomo's suck!!! For real, I had them and I got nothing but tire spin ALL the time! I now have nitto 555's in the front and the drag radial 555R's in the rear and will never get another kind of tire (besides slicks). I love them, highly recommend getting a pair of good tire.

No, idk i was weired there were two perfect lines on the tires the tread wasn't worn out in the middle but it had these lines so mechanic said that the tire was to big for the rim. All in all id stick two a 285/35/18 its the best fit a 275/35/18 will work also.

BTW guys i think he has all the info he needs.
