i want long tube headers for my 2001 mustang gt. it is manual.. im trying to get the most power and torque from them . does it make a diference wat headers i buy or are they all pretty much the same?

I have MAC LT on my Bullitt and I've installed BBK LT on a friends Cobra. The BBKs fit perfectly, but have a crimp in one of the primaries. I don't know if it affects power. The MACs also fit perfectly, but I had to clearance to starter to get it in behind the headers. FWIW, MAC's customer service is great. Also be prepared to wait about a month for them because both the MAC and BBKs were placed on backorder and it sounds like it is common.

i helped thereal2v2fear put some pypes brand longtubes on his car. fit good, didn't hit or rub anything. but if you get them do not use the studs that they send in the kit.

to my knowledge, there is no back order on the MAC headers as of right now.

lucky you. i put a set on papsmurfs car, and nothing but trouble. fitment was worse than almost anything else i have ever touched.

as for header recommendation, its how much $$$ you want to spend. is there a difference; yes. is it a big difference; not really. if you are wanting the best, look at american racing, kooks, or slp. best for the $, look into mac, headman torque step, or maybe even bbk.

how was the fitment so bad on yours?

a header tube was against the starter, collector against the floor, and steering u-joint against a header tube. the first 2 things arent too big of a deal. the steering shaft was rubbing the header tube really really bad.

oh and the oil dip stick tube was about impossible to get in.

i have a set of pypes lt's with a lethal performance x and it fits perfect just bolted it all in without removing the k but a nice set would be MAC if i did it again

i know people say they dont like pacesetter but i have had mine on my car for like 3 years and no problems yet. for the woney i can say there worth it. only thing is you have to get there midpipe if you want it to fit right

American Racing Headers. Great quality and fitment.

well if your budget is unlimited, get some kooks, or american racing, but there are cheaper options such as mac and flowtech that i've heard fit fine. finish isn't anywhere near as good but it'd do.
