So here's the deal. I posted a thread earlier about coming into some decent money pretty soon here and I wanted some mod advice. I'm paying off a lot of debt's including half of my remaining balance on my car brining me to only 16 more payments!
Here's what I've got to work with:
2002 Mustang GT Automatic
3.73 Gears
91 Octane SCT Tune
Cat Back Magnaflow Exhaust with an Off-Road X-Pipe
102,681 miles on stock motor and tranny
My Mustang is my DD from April-November, and I am finishing up a teaching degree at the moment, therefore, if something breaks I don't have the money to fix it and I need my car all the time.
I know that you can easily run 7-8psi on these motors and have them be just fine with zero hiccups.
I really would like to turbocharge the motor, because I know turbo's are a little easier on the motor, but I'm fine with blowers too.
I've got about $1,500 to spend on this build.
I'm not really seeking power numbers upwards of 360 (although that would be nice), but i've got a motor with a couple miles (not terrible) and a car thats a DD so I just want a solid power boost without breaking the bank or the car.
To sum all this up: Can I get everything needed to do a Forced Induction build have it installed and ready to run as a reliable DD for $1,500? Also, I've never installed a blower or turbo kit before. I used to have a turbocharged Mazda6 i but I had a neighbor who was a mechanic and offered to do my install for free. hahahaha. Can't get that lucky again though. Is this something someone (without a garage) can do in a short amount of time pretty easily.
All input is welcome! thanks guys!
