well i've gone to the darkside. about two months ago i tradded my stingray for a 91 gt convertable and a fully dressed extra motor and aod (my gt is a t-5) that had 46k miles when it was pulled out of a 91 lx (i was there 12yrs ago when it was pulled and set on a pallet in the corner of my buddys shop).i had kinda gotten tired of the corvette. i had it for 11yrs from 44,400miles to 86,700miles,and had a blast with it, but i'm one of those guys that has to have a project or 5 going on all the time.i never could bring myself to mod my #'s matching vett, and only having 2 seats is a drawback for family cruses. my buddy had this 91 gt convertable sitting at his house. he builds harleys and does alot of swap-n-trade deals with cars,bikes,tools,ect.....the car was clean and stock, and thats what made me want it. the only mods on the car was duel exaust no cats (no H or X pipe and crappy v-sonic or something muffs), and a cervantes cowl hood. i say the car was clean as a metaphor for the body, it was sitting in the yard for probibly 8 months and was dirty as ****. now i'm knee deep in mustang:D for the last two months i dream about the mods i'm in the middle of,yes it's true the endless posobilatys of these cars is like crack to a guy like me. trying to keep it simple though i love the diy/home brew/ jy mods myself and so far the completed mods are.....frpp 3.73's to replace the stock 2.73's, 3g upgrade, massive battery and custom batt tray(soon to be moved to the trunk),sn95 70mm maf, custom hybrid fender mounted cia, smog delete, egr delete, and a 92 awd areostar alumm driveshaft. my jy parts in stock list include gt 40p heads, two 65mm exploder tb's(one modded and ready for install),two mark 8 fans, cougar alumm radiator (mark 8 fan bolts to it like factory),alumm diff cover frome p-71 taxi crown vic, two exploder upper&lower intakes (one early with better casting),two sets of 24# injectors (doint need them yet but pocket items in the jy),and lets not forget i have a complete stock motor now on my stand.:D i should have started a build thread earlyer ,but o well. i'll post picks of the car and my projects as soon as i can. the car is med titanium and i plan on saleene black wheeles, lowering springs, tinted headlights,no lugagge rack(alreaddy have early notch trunk deck), and a basicly clean darkend look for the car. well sorry for the long post but it was overdue.. i'm open to sugestions and advise

today has been a pretty poductive day. i almost have the couger radiator in with the mark VIII fan. it's a TIGHT fit in their. just have to make some brackets for the top. and then wire it up. it took a good bit of drilling, hammering, cutting ect..to get it in there but it fits like a glove now. i'm relocating my 63 pound batt to the trunk at the same time so this will probably take the whole weekend

how long before you can post pics here and how do you do it? rad and mark 8 fan are fitted in and i re-modified my battery tray and have it in the trunk on the pass side bolted in. i still have to wire everything up

when i got the car it had a drain (it still might who knows? i have a bad ass batt now!) i think due to the ricer foglight install or the stereo nightmare the PO left me . killed two batterys in a week. so i bought a AGM battery from sears their platnums are the exact same thing as oddesy batterys. the car never fails to start now!! Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more these suckers are heavy but they are bad ass! this thing smokes an optima hands down. i have a red top to return on warranty in my shed now it will be the 9th one returned in the last 10 years.

It's weird, some people have good luck and some bad luck with optimas. My mark 8 has gone through a yellow top, and then a red top. The duralast from autozone has taken the beatings better.

i will never buy an optima again. they was bought out a couple of years ago. their quality went to **** after that. if u google...sears platnum same as oddesy battery...lots of info will come up.my battery with a black and red case and an oddesy sticker is $300 at batters plus, but its $189 at sears! they are both made by ENG-SYN our something like that here in the USA. this thing has plenty of juce for the electricall loads that the mark 8 fan and sterio system will put on the car. also with the car being a vert their will be times here this winter that the car might not be driven for awile. one thing i caint stand is a dead batt!!!

battery in trunk and mark 8 fan with cougar radiator completed seems to be working like a charm.used a100 amp constant duty solenoid to carry the load (i got this on ebay a year ago to use as a battery isolator on my truck for $15) of the fan with a hayden thermo controll (o'rilys) to trigger the solenoid, also wired in a indicator light so i can watch the fan and gauge in the car. that thing draws some juice! with a meter in the trunk im getting 14.28v back at the battery (this was with the lights on,sterio cranked no subs or amps ,and the heater on full blast),but when the fan kicks on it drops to 12.88v . thats at 750rpm idling not to bad at all. i'll still have to fine tune the temp setings it seamed to almost work too good. i'm not that computer savy and i'll have to get my pics on my photo bucket account from my computer. whenever i plug my 4g i phone in they go to a pmb file or something and they woint let me copy the img their . ill have to get my wife to do it! ha ha like i said not that computer savy

I've been through the same issues with the optima batteries, once they die they seemed to be dead for good. What I found out is that if they die completely, you have to trickle charge them for about 4 days. After I started doing that, I can bring them back to life every single time. The interstate rep clued me in to this one.

that doesnt really work the battery will finially charge but it wont hold the charge with any kind a load. when they have been drained to dead they are dead

hey how are you mounting the electric fan to the radiator. the electric fan has mounting points on the sides but the stock radiator has mounting points on the top. ive been wondering about this for a while now. also are you going to but the batterie on a batterie box ?
