I'm looking at getting the front cobra brake upgrade kit but just don't no if its worth it. Both my calipers have locked up on me and I need new rotors. Is the cobra upgrade worth the money or should I forget about it and just replace the calipers and rotors or is another decent brake system that's worth geeting ?

well, i had stock calipers with baer rotors and hawk pads and now i have 03 cobra calipers and some drilled/slotted rotors on the stock motorcraft pads. my car stops better now with the bigger brakes even on the stock pads. just imagine if i put some good pads on my cobra calipers (which i plan to do when they wear down lol)
not really much more than an appearance thing but i also like the way the 13" rotors fill out the wheel openings up front.

OK. You have an oppertunity to up grade. I was in the same situation. I could pay to have stock brakes replaced. Or I could have Cobra front brakes.
Is this really a decision for a very little price increase you get Cobra front brakes.

oh man, you going to buy the new kit???
i pieced my stuff together off EBay lol. i actually only spent around $300 for the calipers/pads/rotors so i guess i didnt do too bad.
the GT stuff and the Cobra calipers are both 2 piston calipers but the Cobra calipers have bigger pistons so the clamping power is better. if you need to replace your front brake stuff either way, i would deff. do the cobra brake upgrade.

Well I just found a used full cobra front brake kit on eBay for $100 and $66 shipping. Sucks that I just bought DD tires and MC's for for the track...bottle heater, Mach 1 chin spoiler and grill delete. Merry Christmas to me. That's all my money right there. Guess I gotta wait to order them the first of the year

yea it seems as if the bullitt brakes are a bit cheaper than the cobra stamped ones. I've heard they are the same a few times just wasnt sure. Based off that I say hold off on the "cobra" brakes and get the bullitt brakes esp if you're paying $600- to the op

Ok quick question. My driver side caliper is off right now and I cant put it back on since the pistons wont move. So should I get a c-clamp and force them back in for a quick fix to last me till I can order the new brake kit or should I go buy a autozone calipar to replace it with.?

I've been thinking of doing this mod soon as well as i think my front rotors need to be machined and pads replaced. With 85k on the car i figured why not upgrade the whole thing. Was looking at the bullitt calipers and some 13 inch rotors from latemodelresto. Would all i need are the following three components, do i need new brake lines as well? Would rotors from autozone or pep boys be the same as the ones from latemodel, i'm guessing they'll be slightly cheaper as well if i get them locally from a parts store. Thanks.
