Money will soon be no object for this, my motor is approaching 110,000 miles and with all the work Ive out into the rest of the car, the engine and transmission are the last things Ill be replacing. It sounds a little retarded but Ive known people who have Vipers and a complete 2003+ engine and tranny pullout sounds attractive for my 2001 Mustang GT. The things Im aware of are transmission housing height, engine compartment space and transmission length in relation to a new drive shaft (of what model I don't know). I also know that whatever rearend work I did, it would have to stand up to nearly 700hp... Shaving inches off the transmission tunnel or replacing it all together are probably things Id have to deal with if I go this way, Im thinking also front suspension work to compensate for the much heavier engine. If anyone has INPUT rather than INsults, please dip in. Does anyone know of what kind of drive shaft, rear end and suspension upgrades Ill be looking at if I did this? Bear in mind it'll be a complete pullout with all wiring.[/img]

well if you used a custum k member you may be able to schoot the engine forward some to get the bell housing to clear as for the rear end you should be able to use the 8.8 if you beef it up real good ,,,,good luck in any case this will be a lot of work but a bitchen build :rockon

a built 8.8 will handle what you put through it. a k-member, tubular a-arms, coilovers to adjust for weight, the trans is a t56 with a 26 spine input and a 31 spline output, a driveshaft will have to be made for this application. motor mounts, headers, maybe shifter and location are the few things that i can think of that might create an issue.

Thanks for the input guys Ill keep that in mind, yeah youre probably right the drive shaft'll have to be designed for it, as for fabricating extensions, repositioning or replacing the crossmember and a-arms those are the things that'll probably be the most pain...Im still trying to get pics up of my car to show everbody what Ive got so far but this site is a bitch for uploading files from my laptop.

the 03 viper didnt come with 700hp btw
Who the hell said it had 700hp ???? :dunno

The driveshaft i woud get a custom one cut to specs and a tad shorter. Also you will need to use the input on the tranny from a viper because they are diff splines and then use the rear end part of the u-joints for the rear end. It shouldnt be too bad actually. The biggest problem you are going to have is the k-member. I dont know anyone who has done it...but anything can be done. Especially when you can put a 350 in a civic. The front suspension i would suggest going coil over and also alot of braking work will need to be done. A wiriong harnes shouldnt be hard to come by. And then i would go without a/c so the condensor doesnt take up room.

Good luck

Not really .. he just said he needs a rear end to hold 700 hp .. I mean if he has the money to do this . then he might have the money to turbo it which would make it really close to that mark ... and who really cares... this kind of picky non-sense is what starts all the stupid convos on here anyway ...
