What's up guys i am new to the forum and would just like to say hi.
My name is Matt and i am from NC
when i was 14 i started rebuilding the '67 mustang that my dad had for like 7 years prior to that which he used to daily drive.
he sat in the driveway in a lawn chair, cracked a busch light and lit a cigar and said "start pulling the motor, let me know when you need help"
well after countless hours of work and sending it to the paint shop we finally finished her up.
It was one of my favorite times spent with my father. Im proud to say that i actually did all the work on this car with my father looking over my shoulder.
It is a straight 6 with a 3speed on the floor.
it may not be fast but i love driving it more than anything.

Welcome!! And what a terrific story-wow. Outstanding and proud to have you with MM. Your POP's is a pretty cool guy. Congratulations on your great ride.:) If you are a member of mustang club of America, you should send your story into the magazine. Or any stang magazine, I just thought of MCA cuz u have a classic.

You should start looking to rebuild an engine and drive train for that baby !!!! ;)
You know I love you Mustang Mike, but I have to disagree, the kid worked his butt off so let him drive it for a while (get some chics while he can) and rebuild that stuff later when he has a job, or a better job, and time, maybe after college. I'm just sayin', who knows they pulled the motor, so maybe they already rebuilt it.

well, i do mean, start now, CL it. Oh look a decent 302, oh look trick flow heads, oh look a S/C, lol you know piece it together and begin that journey, by all means bask in success of your mustang man !!!!

Its like my 04 V6, and my friend 03 GT. He thinks he's the **** cause he got a V8, but its silver w/ chrome wheels ...
Mine looks MUCH better than his does, so i like mine MUCH more :)
Its a mustang reguardless of the engine ! :)

+1 on keeping the mag wheels and the current drivetrain in it (for the time being).

I LOVE slot mags and if/when I get a classic car (regardless of make and model) it will probably have a set of old aluminum slot mags or some 70's mag wheel (I just love 'em all).

Well shoot, let's see them man, we love action shots, and progress updates, don't be shy.
Greg is the king of action shots, he even includes the ones where he's scratching his butt, balls and nose, not always in that order!:p

I'm in the same boat as you, bought a 67 200ci spd and I'm 20yrs old. Buuuut my 200 shot 3 pushrods into the oil pan so it's gettin replaced with a 302 with 351 windsor heads. I'm quickly learning that this swap is not as cheap as I planned, even with a free motor... $1100 so far with atleast another $1000  and THEN comes the toploader, 8in rear end and 5 lug swap. It'll be worth it though:yes
