Let's see the trucks I've had (all were 4x4's) in order:

'91 Mitsubishi Mighty Max - bought this right out of college and man that was a tough truck.

'90 Ford Bronco - the one vehicle I truely regret getting rid of.

'94 Toyota extended cab

'97 Ford F150 extended cab

'01 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab - Never really cared for this truck

'04 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I really liked all the trucks but the Dodge was my least favorite. None of them ever gave me any problems but I also didn't beat the piss out of them either. If I had been rougher with them I probably would have seen more of their flaws come out.

Here's a pic of my '97 F250HD 2WD. It has a 5.8/E4OD/3.55 combo. I bought it for $800 and added the wheels, a better tailgate and some home-made side stripes made a $20 rally stripe kit. Runs like a raped ape and gets 17 MPG empty.

Here's a real red-neck truck. My dad's F250 with a 3208 CAT V8 diesel, dual disc clutch, 5-speed, 2-speed Brownie (over+direct+under) auxillary and a 2-speed electric shift tandom axle rear. 30 forward gears and 6 reverse gears. The trailer is full of water.

Man no kidding this thread is making want a truck. I've always wanted one and actually was planing on picking one up a while back but decided on getting the Mustang. Well, maybe in a couple years I'll pick one up lol.

Heres 2 pics of another one of my jeeps. One clean and one dirty :)

How much is yours lifted? I've been wanting to lift mine but I need to get the mustang done first.

When the weather is crappy, I drive my '95 F150 and leave the GT parked in the garage. It has a 5.0L/4R70W, 3" lift, and 33x12.50's. I bought it with 174K and a few issues for $250, had it up to the task of DD duty for less than $200 more, lifted it, bought the wheels/tires, and did a few other things for a total investment of less than $3K.

I was then rear-ended by an Astro van doing ~45 MPH...the impact was hard enough to put my head through the rear glass and push the Astro's engine/trans into the cabin of the van. The only damage the truck received was a tweaked rear bumper, a dent in the tailgate, and a broken rear window, while the Astro van that hit me and the Jaguar in front of me (the van pushed me into the Jag) were both totaled. I fixed the truck for less than $50, the insurance settlement was over $3K (mainly due to my injuries), and my truck was NOT totaled. The point of this whole story is that the way that I look at it, this truck is paying me to drive it. :D The odometer just rolled over 209K yesterday on the way to work.

nice, I've always liked that model year.

Damn, no one likes S-10's? :( I've put a -ton- of work into that one pictured above, staying oem, finding NOS OEM parts (not as easy as one would think for an '84, interior changed in '86 and they stopped making the pre-86 parts)....sounds crazy for an S-10, but that specific one was a custom ordered showroom S-10 originally.

when i sold my V6 mustang i had a Ford Explorer with a mustang 5.0 engine till i could get my GT, that explorer had about 240,000 and ran perfect.
My wife's DD is a '97 Mountaineer AWD with the GT40 5.0L and 3.73's. It moves out pretty well for a mid-sized SUV. Figured if it ever got wrecked I'd pull the engine and look for an '80s Fairmont or FOX body to drop it in.

i had a jeep as well as you can tell by the name...but it honestly sucked. i mean i guess its ok for a weekend car or a trail rig just to beat on off road...i mean its fun for that and occasionally on the street with the top down and what not. but i would never ever ever go back to a truck/jeep unless its just to beat on...the mustang is too fun. i guess i just found out that i'm more of a car guy and like racing better. anyway here she is

I have an 87 Jeep Cherokee. Bought it for $600, is it pretty.... no, does run.... it definitely does. I bought it with 165k... since then put around 15k on it. Dunno the total mileage though the odometer is stuck at 16x,xxx just keeps going back around to 160,000. But it is great, has the old 4.0 which is a strong motor that is hard to kill. I've killed most every car I've owned, I don't resale, I junk, and I honestly beat the crap out of this thing everyday I use it. I haven't done an oil change in 18 month's, just add a quart every month. I can't complain, it starts everyday, has heat and 4wd.

Here's my silverado with my 20's and 40's. These 5.3's run foreverrrrrr.

This is as it sits now on boggers/stock wheels/debadged and 06 tails... I think I'll go with 40 LTB's after I throw a dana 60 on the front.
