i was looking at their complete front suspension kit. the k looks pretty beefy. just wondering if theyre a good company or not?
what you barfin' at? better not be the girl in your avi or else :spankuke That's all I have to say.....
The idea of buying anything from Granetelli. If you want it to fall apart then buy their parts! If you do a search you will find many occasions where control arms have been made different lengths, welds breaking, just cheap craftsmanship.what you barfin' at? better not be the girl in your avi or else :spank
I have that kit as well, and it went on with ease, and looked pretty good. The only thing I don't like is that the coilover kit's upper bearings don't have the groove to hold the bearing centered in the upper plate like some of the others. It's fine once you get everything tightened down, but keeping the top washer in place while you slide everything into the strut tower can be an adventure. 2 people and a dab of grease to hold the washer in place helps immensly.
By design yes - You can always purchase adjustable A arms for the front - then you can set that yourself - but of the box as a kit - YESYes it does. I was worried about that at first, but it caused no problems at all, and actually centers the wheel in the wheelwell better than stock.
bump! will the granatelli coilover kit move the front suspension ahead 3/4" like the MM front suspension kit?

Look guys - we took it up the a-s on bad bushings from our suplier - I hear all the chineese BS but the fact is still the same, the bushing came from the same guys in CA that make them for everyone and everyone had the busing problem. We ship about 400 sets a month of the upper and lower control arm kits GMRS7901I'm not a Granatelli fan by any means, but if you search their K-Members specifically, you won't find anyone that has one with a problem. It's always lower control arms or some old crap.
Once I found a guy that was road racing for a couple years with the Granatelli, I had no problems buying it, and I don't regret it. It's a nice piece for the money.
The bearing's center is quite a bit larger than the shock shaft on my Strange adjustables. I have to pull mine back apart here in a couple days, I can take a picture if you'd like. And it's more the upper washer than the bearing itself that doesn't like to stay in place.Never heard that one. The bearing is specifically designed to float and centers on the shock shaft
I will look into what you are saying but the grove seems to me like it will prevent full float of the bearing
First thing to go on is the sleeve

Install the upper spring support.

Next goes a bearing sandwiched between two washers supplied in the kit. There are two sets, one for each side.

And finally, install the bearing cover

With all this in place, raise the a-arms with the floor jack while guiding the strut into the shock tower and up through the new cc plate.

Now the top strut nut can be threaded on and tightened. Once the strut nut is installed you can now go back and tighten the hardware on the cc-plate. This is what the final product should look like up top.
