I have a V2si trim on a 5.1 stroker running 13# and making just over 500rwhp on 91 octane. Im running 60#injectors with cobra tank, pumps and BAP. fpdc is 60% at WOT. rest of the fuel system is stock. I just bought a YSI headunit that i will be swapping in. Just curious as to the horsepower gain i might see after some tuning. Im going to keep the same 2.9 R/R pulley on. (i think the boost should be the same) what do you guys think?

its a much more effecient blower, should see some decent gains, but if I was going with that blower id ditch your fuel systsem and step up to a return style system, will make tuning that engine combo so much more easier and more reliable

yeah i definitely will be going that route next. -8 lines and return style setup with meth and more boost. i would be stoked if i could get close to 600rwhp with just a tune and keeping the boost the same. not sure how much boost it takes to wake up the ysi.

im limited to my fuel system right now and of course the stock 3650 will be on borrowed time. i will install the blower at the end of the week and tune it this weekend or late next week.

i have seen alot of people make their 8 rib setups. modularfords has a write up on it. i would deff look into it. another option would be to run a larger pulley and a 7.5 crank. i would buy a 8 rib one just in case.

I put my own 8 rib kit together and not including my blower pulley, It cost me about 100 bucks to do the 8 rib swap. My RR 2.8 was 75 or so bucks.

Not really that hard to put together.

And if you move that 2.9 pulley over to the YSI, your boost will not be the same. You will be seeing more boost. The only reason it might stay the same is because its going to slip like hell on that 6 rib setup.

+1 on return style.

ysi blowers dont like low boost(hell i dont even think the blower knows what low boost is)...if all your trying to get it 600 should have just went with a t trim...hell that si trim would have made 600..but yeah your going to need a 8rib setup...and that fuel isnt going to be enough for a 2.9 pulley on a ysi

yep, the least i would run that blower is about 18-20 psi. 8 rib is a must or you will be wasting your time!

You got a good setup going but just gotta get all the necessities

Sweet Ill be watching this, looks interesting. Record the dyno

That thing is going to make close to 20psi on a little 2.9.

romeo motors are easier because you dont have to hunt down an 8 rib'd idler that will work. I literally walked in the back of the fords dealership to find my 8 rib'd RIBBBED idler. You can use all of your smooth 6 rib pulleys.

Here are some tips....

All the rest can be got from a 5.4 4v motor out of a 2000-01-02 navigator. Thats where I got all mine.
