So I turned in my car for the trans issues and the service manager called and said:
"Sir,Ford is aware of the transmission issue exactly as you describe, however, there is no fix at this time so...."

So what? Right? Well I went down there and spoke with the "big wigs" who presented me with these options.

1. Keep driving it until Ford comes up with something.
2. Keep driving it until it breaks.
3. Give us the car back and we will "unwind" the deal and give you your crappy dodge back.(SERIOUSLY DEBATING THIS)
4. Keep bringing it back every chance you get.

What. The. Fvck. Ford?

They seemed more than happy when I threatened turn it in. Thats not what i really want tho...I dint think lemon law applies until 3 failed attempts at repair. They won't try anything because Ford said stop until they figure out how to fix this. I also told them to price the T6060 in the GT500 and maybe we should start considering that as a fix...

They stood their ground telling me to just keep driving it until Ford fixes it. I haven't paid the full down payment yet....think I should give the car back, tell them to keep my truck(I was upside down on it) and take my down payment to a different Ford dealer? Is that even possible?

Maybe it's just me but I don't think it's fair to sell a person 32k car and shrug your shoulders when they want it to run and drive properly.

wait til they find a fix like the rest of us or trash it and make them replace it or make them get you a rental since its unsafe the ford customer service hotline is 1-800-392-3673
and ive herd they will extend your warrenty for free ig ford has been working on this problem since early to late dec and as your dealer said ford is aware of the problem

So sucks to be me huh? Ford gets $32,000 and a mechanically sound 2009 ram and I get a mustang that wheel hops like a parkinson victim and grinds gears like a 15 year old drivin 3 on the tree? Not acceptable. Frowny face.

I say drive it and break it so they have to replace it. What about "unwinding" the deal as you put it and choosing another car? Is that an option? Maybe one with just slightly different mods or a different color? That way you still get a 5.0 but they can have that one back and just sell you a different car. Everyone wins.

How bad does it grind? I had the same problem for a while but it was just every so often. Then one day it just stopped and I havn't had that problem in a couple months. I also found a leak in my tranny and that is still being addressed.

Well I would have to assume that all us 6 speed manual owners have eventual bad transmission. The simple solution would be for Ford to send a new trans for your car but I guess they are all BAD even the ones they are installing in new builds!!

Built in China.......i need not say more

Just drive it until the tranny fluid is full of metal shavings than take it in and tell them you want a new one. I can say (knock on wood) that at 4k miles and more HP and TQ than stock, I have had no issues with my tranny except the occasional not wanting to go into third.

It's a brand new 2011 GT 6MT. Full factory warranty, plus aftermarket warranty. Whines like reverse in 1st+2nd and grinds from 1-2 and 2-3.
I've had the same whining issue as you, took it into Ford, and they said the sound is coming from my intake  riiiight... I told myself if it keeps getting louder I am going back!

trading for a different 5.0 wont really help because chances are you will have the same problem as i said id call fords customer service it seems to make a difference in how the dealer treats you when you show up

For those that have this problem...did it start right away? Or did it take a certain number of miles before it began. My 5.0 is supposed to be coming in this week and it's a manual...just wanted to know what to expect.

DarkTrak...I would contact the number worrgp gave just to get it on record at a level higher than your dealer. And then I would drive it. If it breaks, they'll give you a new tranny. If it doesn't, you can get the fix once they have found one.

I agree in that it stinks you have a new car with issues...but sometimes we have to wait and give Ford a chance to find a fix. To me, it sounds like your dealer is what is giving you the most grief with the way they are handling the situation. People skills go a long way and it seems they are lacking them...

At least if he trades it for another one then someone else will get a basically new 5.0 at a used car price.

I would be pissed if that happened to my new car. I would keep going up the ladder until someone gave me a new transmission. If that one did the same thing, I would start the process over again. Keep doing it until it finally gets fixed.
