This morning i finally was able to roll my car into my fathers garage to start on my suspension. I am installing........
Chromoly tubular K-Member kit
Tubular A-arms
Coil over's
Strange 10 way struts
New poly motor mounts
4 bolt Caster Camber plates
Strange 10 way shocks
Spherical bearings for the rear housing
UPR pro/solid adjustable lower control arms
UPR pro/solid adjustable upper control arms
Welding a brace in for the rear
Poly iso's and may be cutting a little off the rear springs
Torque box reinforcer's bolted and welded in
I took a 2x6 maple plank and cut it to fit in-between my fenders and drilled 2 holes in it, took the alternator off and ran bolts with S-hooks connected to the bolts going through the board and the alternator bolts to hold the motor up while the K is out (dont have a engine hoist). Took me a good while to get the car equally high from the rocker panels all the way around and had a time with the strut bolt up top. The whole strut shaft kept twisting inside the strut when i was trying to remove the nut up top and had to wind up cutting off the plastic strut cover and putting vice grips on the strut shaft and hold it while i turned the nut up top.
The spindle nut was a PITA as well and had to beat the living crap out of it with a ball joint separator while holding the spindle up with a jack with the spring compressed so it would have downward pressure on the balljoint but finally got it. Started on the driverside C/C plate and need to finish bolting it up tomorrow.
I wanted to start this thread so hopefully people that have done this can for warn me off and tricky steps or can throw out some tips for me as i go along and to also have a thread to ask questions if i get stuck at some point as i work on it.
Tomorrow i will start tearing the passengerside down as far as the driverside is and install the C/C plates. I will be starting on the rear as soon as i finish the front. Any tips or info would be appreciated as i am doing all this without any help, thanks Baz..........
