In the middle of a complete suspension build, started on the K-Member today.

Went out and snapped some pics after work tonight and I'll post em Sunday night when I gain acess to a real computer. I have some pics of the aftermath of the fire.......... yeah I caught my car on fire and done some damage Wednesday evening while I was welding in the torque box reinforcers.

How did you manage that? Didn't cover the carpet and was welding the inside parts or something?

Spark went up behind my driver side quarter plastic and caught the padding behind the plastic on fire. The lower large plastic panel is done, melted both the seatbelts in half, and melted some of my carpet.

Im done!!!

Finally after 3 weeks of working on my car every day that i didnt have to go to work i finished it tonight about 9pm. Those bushings in the housing were the biggest pain ever but finally got em out and the aluminum spherical ones in. Heres some pictures i took through the process.
This is how i held the motor up while the K was out

TB reinforcer's from under the car, paint looks bad cause the metal was cold and the paint was 98 cent a can lol


Those bushings are a SOAB to get out, wound up having to pull the rear end out and beating em out with a sledge hammer



And here is the aftermath of the fire


Had everything out of the way and the carpet rolled up but a spark bounced up and behind the lower plastic panel and started catching fire to all the foam padding behind the panel. I tried to smother it out but it kept getting worse so i hopped out and reached in and ripped the burning panel out and slung melted plastic all over the carpet and the back of my console. It melted the panel in half, melted some of my window tint, melted both seat belts in half then they rolled up, melted the tape off the roll of wires going to the rear of the car but luckily it didnt melt into any of the wires, melted some of my carpet and has black smoke residue on the top panel BUT i got it put out JUST in time. When i reached in and ripped off that panel i got melted plastic all over my left hand and wrist, probably had 2nd to 3rd degree burns on my hand and it pulled my skin off to my knuckle none when i pulled the plastic off my hand.

I can hear that "clunk" the Strange struts are famous for but its not that bad. The car really lifts up easy in the front now and grips a LOT better but it still has slick sumi's on it so it still spins in 1st.

Those have about 1,500 miles on them lol
It rides pretty good when the struts are on the lowest settings considering it has no front or rear swaybar or the quad shocks. The stock K was HEAVY and im sure i knocked off at least 100 pounds with all the new stuff. Now i just need some slick's n skinnies and go to the track. The car is SLAMMED in the front now, il take a pic of the height tomorrow. Now if ANY of you guys know of where i can get all the stuff i need on the interior please PM me or something, i need both seat belts, both plastic panels, and a console if i can find one cheap.

I had to file out all the holes to get enough adjustment to make it square to a 1/16th front to back and crossways but i got it pretty close. I hope that they will be able to align it perfectly. I have to wait till next week so i can let the front springs settle before i get it aligned. The UPR kit that i have evidentially makes the wheel base about 1/4-1/2in shorter in the front because i had to turn the steering rack in a good bit on both sides.

Yeah it takes a long time to drop the plumb bob, wait till it stops swingin, mark a spot, measure the distance from dot to dot, re-drop the plumb bob and keep doing it till its straight

I think it is funny that some K-member instructions like the vid on Streetfire and On3Performance both just show you unbolt the old and slap the new on lol
