So I have a v6 and I want to add dual exhaust to it. I already have a new GT bumper, and it's already been painted to match my car, now the real work. I've decided I want a shop to mod the pipes to an H pipe. I'm trying to figure out what Flowmaster 40's I need for it and was told I need to fit the size of my IN/OUT for it. I was told I want nothing bigger than a 3", Flowmaster's website suggests Flowmaster 942043 40 Delta Flow Muffler - 2.00" Offset In / 2.00" Offset, what difference would it make if I got the 2.50"? I know someone selling theirs reasonably priced and the 2" are higher. Also with dual exhaust is it required to have 2 mufflers? Sorry if these are dumb question, I'm still learning :)
Thank you for any information!

I think most people on this site would agree, that 2.25 is the most common 2.50 is also more common and 3" is too big for a v6 but honestly I don't know if 2.00 is right I think you at least go 2.5

My exhuast is 2.5 all around with 3" tips (because of the cat back I got)

Thank you very much. I didn't want to buy 2 of them and the shop look at me crazy cause they were the wrong size. Appreciate your help!
Just call up the shop and tell them you want them to fab an H-pipe to flowmaster 40's with whatever inch tips you want. They wont think your crazy and if they do take your money elsewhere. The shop i went to provided everything and it was around $400 out the door. And just a little side note make sure the gt bumper is on when you get it put on so they can fit to that bumper and not the v6 bumper. Im currently kicking myself in the ass for not getting my gt bumper before i got my exhaust and now I have to pay to get it just about redone.

2.5inc piping and 3.5 ROLLED tips and you will be set :)

You can get any tip from an exhaust shop. I think you would be happier with a 3.5 inch tip though. It will look better. And kansas city is a pretty cool town.
I'll definitely keep you posted! And yes, I'm quite a fan of Kansas City, most of Kansas in general, lived all over, from Andover to Lawrence and now KC.
Thank again for your help!
