I have no argument.
 
"Drove quickly" against my friend's Yamaha 6R....and because of this, I learned that it IS possible to still get wheel slip in second gear, with 19x8.5 tires with these gears. Holy hell

Have you ever heard your tires chirp when accelerating or shifting gears? (From other than a dead stop when you mash the pedal?)

I've heard of it, I haven't done it personally in my car though. That's referred to as a wheel slip?

Edit: Is it something easier to do after you have a tune?
 
Basically when you shift, there's more power than traction on your wheels, so your wheels chirp as they 'slip' (or spin) trying to catch traction before they launch you.

Its easy to do in first gear because of how low of a gear it is, and just about any FWD car can spin their tires, but in a RWD car where we're "pushing" forward, its harder to do, because it requires a lot of power, and its pretty cool to be able to hear em chirp as you go from 1st to 2nd then 2nd to 3rd...Anything beyond that requires either terrible tires or a really high powered vehicle....(for our gear ratio, anyway.)

And yes, a tune may help, or a manual vehicle where you shift hard at a high rpm with the clutch engaged at a lower speed

If you ever switch out your gears, you'll feel the car 'lunge' each time it shifts (well with the 3.55s and I imagine 3.73's as well)

So when your going fast and your car shifts, its pretty easy to slip the stock tires (I'd imagine)

It's also easier to chirp your tires on hot pavement - softer rubber helps.

I <3 that sound. But not nearly as much as the sound of my Bassani's :tomato

oh yea, i never really though about how big of an accomplishment it is for an auto to get wheel chirp. Nice. Im used to it cause with a manual, you can do that whenever you want. My Nitto NT555's come in on tuesday, so i will throw those on and see what they are made of! I didnt even realize that a tire could be better rated than "z". Mine are "w" rated which was actually made after "z" because they are better. Z rated is good up to 149mph, and W rated are good up to 169mph. I cant wait! I gotta get gears and header set up at some point though :)
