I would like to receive some suggestions from whoever about what to put inside my 2003 Mustang. My previous sound set up before it got stolen was 2 Rockford 10's and a 2400 watt Rockford amp pushing those. A JVC 4 channel for my mids and highs and a capacitor between those. A flip dvd/cd monitor in front dash and that is all (was all). I would like to go with two 12's in a box for my stang but I would like to know what kind of 12's do I need to purchase in order for them to fit like my previous 10's fit. Looking forward to your advice.

JustinSane I am assuming you are talking to me. I would like both of SPL and SQ. I am leaning more towards SPL right now because I can get descent SQ. The 10's that I had was 'alright' but if I can fit 12's in there maybe I can get deeper base and feel it more in my seats. I was looking at www.cardomain.com and they got this sale going on featuring buy one kicker and get the second kicker sub free. They also got this sale for a Dynomat trunk kit for $84 I had this in a previous car of mine. I never had kicker before but I heard them in other peoples cars and they hit pretty hard, but what do you propose? Budget is not a issue right now just working on the vision first.

Cool man. Well I myself am running two 12" Kicker CVR's and I will tell you from experience, it is really hard to fit in two 12"s in a ported enclosure, which if you are looking for SPL, you'd want to go with. I JUST finished the install of mine tonight and what I had to do was go with two single 12" vented boxes, and set them up so that at a later date, I can make a faceplate so that everything looks custom. If you don't want to go that route, you could do a custom fiberglass wheel well box, or just a straight up fiberglass box to take up your trunk. I was running a sealed box before, but I'm liking the vented better as it's a deeper base which works well for what I listen to. So as far as the subs go, I have worked with Kicker subs for awhile now and the CVR's are alot of bang for your buck. As far as an amp goes, you need something that runs atleast 800 watts at two ohms. I'm running a Kicker ZX750.1 which actually is rated over 900 watts and it hits hard. I know exactly what you mean by feeling it more in the seats and as long as you go ported, you will feel these not only in the seats but in your face. There are other options to go with for amps obviously, but it depends on if you want to do electrical upgrades on your car or not. That you will have to let me know.

For deadening, although Dynamat works well, it's really expensive. Even that trunk kit on Cardomain is really expensive as it only gives you 20sf which isn't enough to do most trunks, especially more than one layer. Now with my install I finished tonight, I put eDead in my trunk which worked very well. The best part is is you can get it for really cheap on eBay. I got 60sf of it for $50. I did two layers on my trunk lid and on that rear panel that my rear speakers sit on and I still have a full roll.

But anyways, if you want to go into this in more detail, let me know. We can talk on msn or aim or something, just give me a shout.

I need more information.

What type of spending limit are we working with.
You said you want sq & spl ( ever heard a true sq car?)
You said you want 12s that fit like the 10s you had? <- kinda confused here

And whoever said you cant fit 2 12's in a ported box has NO idea wtf their talking about.

You're telling me that you can fit a dual 12" ported box in the back of a 95 Mustang without building the box in the trunk? I don't know what year that guy has, but there's no way you are fitting a proper sized ported box built to specs for two Kickers in the back of a 95 Mustang. Even if you remove the rear seats to get the extra clearance, it is not going to fit. It may be different for different body styles, but if I'm wrong, can you show me that I'm wrong?

Whats the difference in a 95 trunk and a 99+ trunk?
