Which waxes have you used and applied by hand (bare hands) and got good or great results?
I've always been skeptical about applying by hand. Wouldn't the rough nature of your hands cause swirls?
No...![]()
Dam It, What's a good buffing machine ?
Are those Walmart ones any good ?
From what I've been told by people who know more than all of us regulars combined, no. They have horrible hands, dry, calluses, etc and it just can't scratch the finish unless there is something on the surface of the paint or your hands.I've always been skeptical about applying by hand. All carnuba waxes have oils. We aren't talking about waxing with a machine. Regardless any machine you're using to apply a wax you're not going to burn any clearcoat... We are talking about applying waxes with your BARE hands not with a foam applicator. Meguiars and Mothers aren't the best products you can use... They have a lot of great products but there are hundreds, thousands, of better products out there... This is coming from someone who owns nearly all of the Professional Meguiars line and use it consistently.I think its better with hands than machines because some waxez have oils. The machine can probably burn when its orbiting and ruin some of the clear coat. At least by hand you have more control to how much pressure you should put on. My opionion. Mothers and Meguaries are the best products you can use but I need something can repel dust a little better.
You know what I did remember I did apply PB Nattys Blue by hand one time which was on my first correction. It went really well and I didn't have any problems. Here is the thread which was my first correction job. Yet I wouldn't do it again with a low grade carnauba like PB nattys blue, I would use one of the carnaubas I stated in my previous posting.I'm surprised more people haven't tried to wax with their bare hands at least our regulars.
No...
Only one way to find outI wonder how it would work with Meguiars #16...
