That was my thinking on the MSD box, better combustion and burn. Ah screw it, I still have it so on the tranny hump:) it shall go. Thanks Escort.

1200.00 for a used Vortech, that doesn't sound like a bad way to go. Anything I should worry about or look for on a used one? I am a rookie so forgive my lack of knowledge on the subject.

Yep the valve springs were new. If all goes well it should be going in for a tune in two weeks. Kind of pumped to see where car is at after the tune.

Just got the shocks and struts in, upper and lower rear control arms too. Going to try and get the MSD Box, cap and rotor on tommorow if it's slow at work.

Fuel pump and subframe connector this weekend hopefully.

Go Wings!!!!

really 50,000 volts.... those spark plugs are going to be better at combustion and getting a full burn...
You go take an N/A GT-40 headed combo to the track and see what it runs. Then put an MSD box on that same car and tell me if you ran faster... You don't need a MSD box on a car like the OP's. They have their place, but N/A cars making less than 300rwhp is certainly not one of them.

Long story short...
Swapped in 30lb inj. Everything was great running like a beast.
After around 20 miles I started getting white smoke out of the exhaust, 95% from driver side.
thought it was the intake gasket, checked it was cracked, so was the crappy jegs spacer, replaced both.
Also one of the inj was not seated all the way in so I redid all the inj to make sure they were in nice and tight.
Well I drop a fuel quick disconnect down the lower intake.... took of the lower intake to get it, it was sitting in #5 just in the head.
Now my question is, I noticed that there was a lot of coolant still sitting in the head port of the #8 cylinder. None of the others had any coolant in them, just a little in one port on cylinder #1. Is this normal? Or could I have a blow head gasket. I know that is a possiblity with the white smoke that was the original problem.+
I know this is kind of vague but let me know if you have any ideas.
My other question is I picked up a used fuel inj harness for the my 93 gt. My old one is bent and a bit crimped on inj 6 and 7. On my original harness there are two wires one goes to the front of the lower intake "driver side" (slips onto a nut) and the other one runs down to the block and slips on a nut too.. The new used harness doesn't have these two wires on it. Do I have the wrong harness, I believe it came off a 91 gt.

Welcome to Modded Mustangs, I am an MI boy to when I am actually home. Lidio does decent work, but if you want the best in MI then go to Paul's High Performance. Not only does his stuff run, but it runs reliably.

Whatever you do stay away from the hack shop known as Walsh Motorsports in Wixom. They will **** you. They ****ed me...

Coolant sitting in the intake port is either from when you removed the lower intake and spilled some there, or a blown intake gasket. If it was just sitting there, then the valve had to be closed. No way coolant would get back up into the intake port and leave enough of a puddle for you to see from a blown headgasket.

Those are just ground straps so yes you have the right harness. White smoke is either coolant or gas and a blown intake gasket can get coolant in the head for sure. Flush the motor, change the gaskets, and then drive that bitch.
So can I just delete those two wires or should I splice them back into the new harness If possible.

Thanks as always for the advice.

Well looking like it's a blown head gasket. Put it back together and still a crapload of white smoke coming out of it. We had put new gaskets on when we put the gt40 heads on last summer. Probably put less than 1000 miles on them.

Any recommendations on gaskets?

Good News. Got the new head gaskets in. Bad news, weird high pitched whining noise coming from the gt40 intake, revving much higher in neutral, power seems slow, and now a little oil is burning from somewhere. Damn back to the drawing board.....lol
