Okay, I know this is superficial, but I run the blue dash lights ( I think they're easier to see) but my radio/climate control lights are always green. I think it looks silly with the different colors. Is there a way to get the lights on the radio/climate control to change color to match the guages?

On a seperate note, is there a way to get the illuminated pieces that were optional somewhere online? I'd love to have a lighted cupholder!

Any suggestions would be awesome, Thanks!

Did your car have the "pony package" as an option? If not, I'm not sure you can change the color of the accent lights. The fact that you don't have the lighted cup-holders makes me think you might not have that option. Could be wrong about this. If I am, I'm sure someone else will correct me.

I bought it used so I'm not sure what it has for packages. I have the mycolor for the gauges, but that's all I can control.

I'm sure someone has to have done this at some point! As far as the optional lighted cupholder, I can't believe that AM doesnt offer something. I can buy every single stupid piece of trim in brushed aluminum if I want, but I cant get a factory optional accessory?

Yeah, you're wrong. :lol :p

So if I have the pony package with the lighted cup holders, I can change the console lights? I'd like to know how to do it. haha
Nope. The only way to change the colors is to swap the LEDs. The LEDs are PLCC-4s. I've done this and replaced mine with Red LEDs. To replace them you have to remove the old LEDs and solder new ones onto the circuit boards.

^ Thats love... and crazy. I stopped with the blue LED map lights.

Edit: I cant do the red freaks me out I think my engine is about to blow up all the time. Doesnt the dash light up red when you're extremely low on gas?

No, you just get a "40 MILES TO E" warning on the dash digital display, bud, along with a warning tone.

I did the MyColor edit for a mix to a soft blue, slightly green color...somewhat like an aquatic blue but not bright as hell. I can't do bright lights in my face all the time, but there's a dimmer for that, too, heh. I have to look into the LED thing, though...thanks for the info on the LED type! I could solder them @ work, heh.

yes this happeneds. When u get around like 10 miles to e i belive. I have taken mine all the way to 0, thought it would go negative but guess programers didn't wana do it lol.

I have herd threw the telphone game you can edit when it turns red. So at 50 instead of 10. Dunno about that

I let mine get to about 25 MTE or lower to clac my MPG about one a month. I dont trust the dash MPG. Good old calulator shows the truth when i fill up. Gives my Non OCD brain a saftey feeling thiniking everything runs good :)

Why would you be letting your gas tank get low in the first place anyways? ;)
I dont my car likes to tell me im at 0 gallons sometimes when I take a turn too sharp :(

It did it once and the dash turned red but the mycolor was on since it was at night. Other time it happened it was daylight and it never changed.

I did manage to snap a picture of my car when it said I had 0 miles till empty though. I thought it was funny for some reason.

I had a pontiac before this and everything in that car light up red, lol. I like the blue because it's different and easier to see.

@Nasty: Thanks for the info, that's a little more of a pita than I'd hoped for, but I can do it myself when I find the time. Where did you get your LEDs?

I still have blue LED light strips I may install but im not sure. It just seems bright enough already and I really dont want to put them in the back and keep the passengers awake. I might eventually use the power from the shifter (manuals have them but they arent used) and put them under the driver and passenger seats. Maybe... dont know if I like the look yet. I would like my car to light up a little more when I unlock it but not be horribly bright when im inside.

Been wanting to do this for a while, I've just been scared lol. =p

But if you want to give it a shot here is a nice "How To" for it. "How To" - Change Interior LEDs - MustangForums.com

There is no other way of changing your center console light other then doing this. The only ones that change are the "mood/ambient" lighting the Halo lighting in the 2010+ and the lighting behind the numbers for the tach and speedo

Perfect! that's exactly what I was looking for. I'll start with the cruise control first and see how it goes. This looks tedious, but nothing that can't be completed with some patience. Thanks for the link!
