Can someone please tell me which piping kit i need? there is like a hundred of them and the description is like the same on all of them. i think i want a black one tho. what im thinking is buy the intercooler on ebay and then get one of these piping kits..

cxracing.com: 3" Piping Kit

just buy the intercooler only from ebay and I really don't you'll have that hard of time to make it work. worse you'll have to do would be buy 2 pipes and maybe 4 connectors. they way i see it would be one should plug right in and for the other end you might need to get an extra small piece of aluminum pipe to remove the bend which would be on passenge side.
just search for the pics of both set ups and compare. you'll know what im talking about

You can just buy the CXRacing 3" pipe set for like $75 on eBay. Or just buy individual pipes from cxracings site

buy the 4 core intercooler from cxracing. great intercooler!!! i did the swap... only thing that will change is you will delete a couple pieces of pipe. Just throw them away or in the closet. I actually like the route of the piping better now than before. less pipe too!

Baker - So you had the original procharger piping and you switched to a cx racing i/c and you didnt need to buy a new piping kit or anything.?

also, why did you decide to switch?

and lastly, why the 4 core and not the 3 core?

you my friend have the potential to end the thread in one final post! lol:D

I feel like those huge 4 core intercoolers are going to be a bit overkill for what the OP is looking for. And used procharger 3 core intercoolers don't go cheap. Around $800-1000 i believe.

If I was in your shoes, and wasn't looking to up the boost I would go with procharger's 2 core. You should be able to find them used reasonably priced seeing as people commonly sell them to go with a larger one. It's small enough so that you won't see much boost loss, but it's well put together and extremely effective. Baker didn't you just swap from a procharger 2 core?

The 4 core flows really good. Stal actually picked up 3 psi going from a 3 core with a 2.8 pulley to a 4 core with a 3" pulley. SO the 4 core with. Big enough pulley will be good on the stock motor, a 3 core would be better for the stock motor IMO. People start switching to the 4 core when they have built motors and are looking for more power/torque.

Chris, PM bandity he just upgraded to a 4 core. You could get his procharger 2 core intercooler

alright, will do. thanks bro!

3 in is good, the reason I went with that kit, is there is a special s shaped pipe, that works perfectly on the pass. side coming up from the intercooler
Do you have any pics of how your piping is routed? Is the S pipe coming through the fender or is it in the engine bay? I've seen it done both ways.

yea, but it is the same size dimensionally as the mustang one, and it says universal, would there be something different internally in the intercooler that would keep it from being compatible with my mustang?

keep in mind that this is the same guy that was selling the i/c that MustangMan00Vtech and i believe Baker bought their's from.

I think that one will work fine. Youll have to cut the bumper support, drill holes though the top to put bolts in the top of the bungs on the intercooler to support it.

yea, but thats pretty much the same with any intercooler tho correct? i just wanna make sure that this is the same 4 core i/c that everyone was suggesting i get form cxracing.com.

I would think so, the inlet/outlets are both 3", same size dimensions, so I really dont see why not. Regardless you can make it fit worst case. Considering how good those 4 core's flow, thats pretty damn cheap.
