Hey guys. Im thinking about tinting my windows but I'm not sure what to go with. In NY, I can have anything in the back and 70% on sides :rolleyes legally.
I could not imagine that at all. Even though I hate living in the country, almost 90% of my car is blacked out. My tint is 5 percent. Love it, but at night I got to roll down windows to actually see. I guess its the price of beauty.

yeah i had no ac and an hour ride home after i got the windows tinted and it happened to be about 90 degrees that day so i had to sweat my balls off lol
Haha. Lucky for me, I have AC. But the weather has been/is going to be shitty anyway, which is always a bummer

Instead of sandpaper use a scotchbrite pad and just work the **** out of the dots, they'll wear down and your tint job will be way nicer than most out there. Pics of mine in sig, 5% ftmfw. In response to whoever said you can't see out of anything darker than 20%, where do you get your information????? Just kidding, you can't see out of 5% but who gives a ****, it looks good and the windows roll down. No need to see out of anything but the front. Everything I own has 5% and always will, **** a ticket.

**** yes. I got my windows tinted an the guy said it would look shitty at the top of of the rear windshield cause of that dot matrix. Gonna take that advice and try and getthat **** off and give him a call to finish the top of the rearwindshield.

@roosgt I understand the go fast parts but trade for stocks! Please =P. I was thinking the same thing, legal limit is 35% here in KS so im getting 35% next weekend

It's important to remember you don't have to remove the dots from the glass, you just have to sand/scotchbrite them some. You don't wanna sit there and sand until they're completely removed. Fifteen minutes or so and eough will be gone that there will be no issues and it won't look like the tint is about to fall off of the window.

The dot matrix doesn't HAVE to be sanded if your tinter REALLY knows what he's doing. Here is mine with no prep. 20% all the around with a 5% strip on the front.

Tinters who "really know what they're doing" sand/scuff the dots for proper adhesion. Looks like he did a good job when he did yours.

Looks good man, it's amazing how darkening windows can improve the looks of a car. I wish I had thought to mention it earlier in the post, but one of the tricks guys do around where I live is to tint the rear and side windows with 20% or darker (usually 5%), the passenger side roll up in 20% and the driver's side roll up in 35%. The darkness of the other windows makes the 35% on the driver's appear darker but it helps keep you out of tickets as most police will only check the driver's window (legal limit in Georgia is 32%).

Hey not a problem the previous owner messed up alot of **** before I got the car and it just took me a little bit longer than I wanted to replace them.
