Once upon a time I had a 99 Ranger 4x4. I loved that truck and regret trading it in. The only downfall was that weak ass 3.0 v6. Four banger power with v8 fuel mileage.

you couldn't have hit it better than that. I have that dog motor:(, at least it has longevity. 4.10's and under-drive pulleys help out some, its just funny having a motor with such little power that an under-drive pulley makes a night and day difference.

sharp truck btw!!!

Thanks! My truck had 4.10's also and the tires in that pic were only 31", yet that motor still struggled badly. The motor is definitely reliable, all I ever replaced on that truck was the water pump and 4wd hubs. Those vaccum actuated hubs left me stuck in mud holes more then once. I had to remove the hubs while in the mud and manually engage the springs inside for them to work.
