Its funny when i called in and talked with the manager and then again with the sales man, i told them i already know whats wrong with the car. And as soon as i say whats wrong they just get puzzled and have NOOO idea what im talking about... and treat me like i have no idea what im talking about.

I also told them that the damage done will more then likely cost over 1,000 to repair... and all they said was dont you worry about the price, we will get you taken care of. haha

so im not sure what that means?!!?

well because if they give me a refund... can they then turn around and sell it like at auction as a "as is where is" car? wouldnt that be a pretty good outcome for both of us.

or they could give me the refund, fix it, throw it on the lot and act as if this past weekend never happened haha.

They could do any of those but most likely they would auction it. which is what it should have been done in the first place..

If they act stupid.. Threaten to call local news and give them bad rep. lol

kk, well then i'll see what they say they're going to do for me. I talked to the manager at 8am (7 hours ago) and he said they would send a trailer and a rental car down right away... still havent heard anything. I called back and talked with them again and they said they are still on top of it... then asked if i could get the car to the gm branch (couple blocks from my house) and i told them i will drive it there, but that it WILL cause more damage that im not paying for. So they said they will take care of it...

Mean while my wife is stuck at home with no car and 7 months prego... haha

just be aware that when you tell them thats what the problem is and they fix it knowing that there is or could be some potentially other issues with the car. When you sign and release your car into your custody you are responsible for anything else that happens to the car. When you sign that waiver you agree that the car is in good working order and have no issues. If something else goes wrong with it then your responsible for fees assesd with the car. And read your warranty. It will clearly state that if something is wrong with the car you cannot take it to someone else and have them perform any maintenance on the car that includes a diagnostic check on your car or you void the warranty. They are the only ones that can look, fix , and return the car to you. do not mention that you took it to someone else and they looked at it cuz then your going to come out of pocket 100%....( read carefully make sure this car does not give your wife a headache or she will tell you to get rid of the car and get a mini van that you both can drive) your really gonna be hating life then.....and on another note....a car seat sits very nice in the back seat...i know cuz i have a daughter

Guys, i don't want to sound negative here, but i'm almost positive that once you drive off the lot...you cannot get your money back.
Mr. Burton there are laws in place like this to prevent deceptive business practices when dealing with used cars. Most states have a 15 or 30 day time period where someone can bring the car back for a refund, sometimes minus mileage sometimes nothing. Otherwise people would be getting shafted left and right.

The dealership that read the code and diagnosed it was part of the Midway Motorsports chain, so i should be in the clear there.

Then the dealership manager said that they would take care of everything including rental car.

And kept telling me that everything would be okay, not to stress out about it, they would make everything right. We love the way our boy's car seat fits back there, going to be interesting when #2 comes in october but shouldnt be that bad at all.

*on a side note though, the "rental" they brought me is a ~2000 pontiac bonniville with absolutely NO balls. Not only that but they dropped it of flashing low fuel. They are bringing down another rental tomorrow so hopefully it has a little more fuel then this one! haha

Alternator

mine did the same thing on friday night ,same code, I:cool: reset the code with my stc tuner , but the check engine light came back on saturday , i did some research and took a gamble , I changed the alternator , and havent had any problems since , regulators are integral , seems like most fords 05-09 have this problem , alternator was about $200 for a rebuilt motorcraft .

I just got done reading Kerry's post and I have to say I'm not so sure about a lot of that. I'm quite positive that is not the case. Hopefully someone else who works at a dealer can put in their two cents. Just like the Moss-Magnuson Act says a dealer can't force you to buy their OEM parts otherwise your warranty is voided. I believe there might even be a clause in the act about the performing of work. Of course if it's deemed someone who worked on it created an issue it's going to be denied.

car will be pulled into shop first thing tomorrow, hopefully i've got some updates tomorrow afternoon. I wouldnt think it'll take em that long to fix. Because when we loaded it on the trailer thursday the car wasnt making ANY weird noises. So hopefully theres no damage done, just needs the sensor replaced/ phaser...

I've had my 05 GT for about a year.
Father said he had always heard a faint ticking but I never did. Then suddenly a month ago,
Bam a knocking sound and decrease in power. Had It checked out and
having to replace a cam, lifters, and rocker arms.
$650 in parts
$300 in labor.
Not good..

Is it at all possible that that sound was caused by a series of misfires? as in, one of the COPs took a ****, making that cylinder dead??

Not likely I don't think...... I never did it on my 09 but I ran my termi on 7 cyl before and it didn't knock......

I know on my 01 i ran it on 7 and it sounded like that, but that was when the carbon build up broke loose and rattled around on the inside of the cylinder. But this sounded more like a clicking noise then a rattling noise. almost like those pins on the phaser were snapped or something?

Yeah...heres a ****ing update... it died in my driveway. Im driving the bitch back to midway first thing in the morning... if it dies on the way there i'm calling them and telling them to pick their car up out of the ditch and i'll meet them at my lawyers office.

I called the salesman just now and he didnt answer, so i left a voicemail saying the car would be sitting in the parking when he gets there in the morning and him and i will both listen to the knocking together, and then i will watch them check everything.

He told me that they checked the phasers and all that, all they ****ing did was pull the sparkplugs and put them back in.

Im so ****ing pissed right now.
