deck speakers i believe, they are the two you can see if you look on the roof of the trunk

if i have two speakers that are 6X9 and they can each handle up to 200w should i get a 200 amp? or do i need to add the two speakers watts together and get an amp that handles 400w?

thats an example im using not actual size or power.

In that case if your talking about the rear deck speakers (5x7s) then don't do that, if you do anything just add an amplifier to all 4 or just the front 2, not the rear.

all you need is a 4 channel amp, i forget wattage, but i got mine shipped for like 170. call crutchfield they'll help you figure everything out and for the most part theyre the cheapest with the best and most deals, pm me if you use them ill get you 20 off

Do you have an aftermarket head unit?

like the others said get a 4 channel amp...

Also I wouldn't suggest buying from Crutchfield... They are expensive... However I would suggest doing research on their website.

This is where I buy all my speaker equipment.
Car Audio Stereo - Car Subwoofers - Car Amplifiers and Speakers

I have a convertible so my speakers are not on the rear deck but are the same size.

Okay, well If you are just doing the rear deck speakers you can get two 6x9's.
If you want an amp get a two channel amp for those two speakers. Match the RMS (continous power) of the speakers to the RMS of the amp you choose.

Try to get something of good quality. I am running nothing but Rockford Fosgate.Pioneers are also good as well as Infinity,JBL..etc.

So for example:
If your two speakers are rated at 100 watts each and 65 RMS each, get an amp that is close to matching the speakers RMS.Don't go by the total watts.

Hope that helps

Hehe..thanks.

Yep, both on the speaker box and amp box :)

I am glad I could help you out. Your boss knows his audio too.;)

G'luck with your purchase and install.
