Yay! :D

I think so too - everything I've read has been positive - maybe the worst thing is that the My Ford Touch screens aren't the most user friendly - not sure I'd go to that expense. Couple other options i'd rather have.

Gotta say - the Mazda 3 is another viable option. Every bit as nice as that Focus. But I do love my blue ovals. ;)

The Mazda 3 is a Focus with a Mazda emblem. Same frame, same suspension, same transmission, just a 2.3L Duratec vs the 2.0L Duratec in the Focus. It's basically the exact same car.

Good to know - which one do you suppose would hold a better trade in value?

Seriously worried about buying a brand new car. Goes against everything I've ever said. Never buy a new car - you're upside down in them as soon as you drive off the lot.

Any thoughts on that?

From what I've seen, they've been about even.

Well. Took my husband in to drive them. Drove the Focus first. Never made it to the Mazda. He loves the sport shifter mode. Think we're going to place our order for a new one on Monday :)

They said they are selling them at invoice faster than they can get allocations for them. So this could take 90 days to actually get it. But they said it could come in quicker than anticipated. Just depends…

Nice! :D I hope you enjoy the car. I've been seeing a ton of them in my area. A friend of mine who works at my local Ford dealer said they can't keep them on the lot. They've been selling like crazy.

I like it, 2 door option available? I didn't watch the whole vid to see if they did or not.

I'm excited! Not sure I want to wait to order one - there is a very high demand for the car. What would prevent Ford from increasing the price between now and the time mine came in? There is one really close to what I would have ordered - has the parking package and navigation systems, both of which I wouldn't have spent the money on. That increases the price by about $1900. That amounts to an additional $28 a month over the course of the loan. Which winds up being $2016 paid for these items. But if I wait, can't get that low financing for 6 years, I could potentially wind up paying that much anyway for less options.

Going to have them quote what I want and give me a figure. Talk to them about financing availability and pin them down on it closer than "I can get you pretty close to that". If it doesn't feel right and that one they found on Saturday is still available and they'll do a dealer trade, then I'll just go ahead and get it.

No 2 door option - The sedan is ok, but I like the look of the hatch better.

So who knew it would be so difficult to get a dealership to tell another dealership if they have a car on their lot or not?

My guy has called them 2 dozen times today - can't get anyone to tell them if they have the car I want or not. *sigh*

That's annoying. I'd get on them a little harder tomorrow.

So, the guy at the Ohio dealer that does dealer trades is apparently on vacation until tomorrow.

So she's going to give it one more shot in the morning. I asked her to at least demand that they tell her if it's still in stock. Jesus Christ, how hard is it to tell us if it's there or not!?

If I knew it was there, I'd drive down and get it! They don't care - they aren't going to make anything off of it anyway!

If that one is gone, she found a dark grey metallic one. Not thrilled about the color but the wheels do look pretty cool on it.

Hey are you on a Focus Forum? Which one should I join?

The Ford Focus Enthusiast Site :: Focaljet :

^^^The best site out there for the enthusiasts. There is also focusfanatics.com but it's turned into a drama central and has fallen off activity bad lately.

Joined! :D Thank you!

Jake, I agree. I think if you buy it with the intention of hanging on to it after it's paid off, then it's not a big deal to buy new. My son is mortified. "Dave Ramsey would kick your ass!"

Just as an FYI, all the Mazda automatics have a sport-shift mode, and it actually has the directions right for a vertical bump shifter (towards you to upshift, away to downshift; SO many companies have that wrong!).

Though, if you look at a Mazda, I'd council waiting until you can get a 2012 model. That's when their Sky motors come out, which are supposed to be significantly better than what's out now (though I don't know what's different other than direct injection).

If I had that much cash laying around, I'd be buying the new 5.0 ;)

Rev, that Mazda 3 is also a sweet car. If tomorrows phone calls don't go well, it may wind up being a Mazda.

The big issue for me is the 2.5% interest rate for 6 years. Damn good deal. :dunno

Yeah, that's one thing for me, the Mazda3 hatch is IMO the best looking 5-door just about ever.

The Focus would look eleventybillion times better as a 3-door, but for some reason the manufacturers are convinced that everything should either be a 5-door hatch (meh) or a sedan :)puke).
