:wtf

if he's gonna spend $1k..
gets over $700 worth of those mods... your left with

an exhaust that wont hook up to the long tubes
4.10s installed with 0 traction

do not follow that advice

if i were you i would get Gears and a t-lok and an xcal2 or sniper if you only wana spend a grand

$2k
you can get full exhaust with it and long tubes

$3k....you might as well save the money for a turbo or s/c or a 4.2L

a 4.2L can beat a GT depending on whats done to it
if its just stroked to a 4.2L it wont
4.2L with heads, cam ported upper and lower intakes YES

for 250BHP it'll cost ya $2k
for 260rwhp it'll be like $3,600 or $4k im no 100% and then from SSMS $7k

depends on what your doing for the future of the car

i would personally suggest getting gears and a t-lok have them installed and a tuner ... sorry to argue torres ... but that will but you at 1050-1150 depending on what tuner this also builds in a 100 cushion in the misc part department for say install or parts related things

yeah i'd go with the 4.2L which i'm probably leanin towards doing when I get back from bahrain.... it's 2k for the engine and you don't have to change much of anything else on the car.. u throw a CAI and LT headers an exhaust and a tune and u have a real nice gain of power from our 3.8L 195bhp engine!! you'll probably spend about 4k but it's worth the money.. if u got the $$$ then go w/ this and put the rest of that 7K in the savings account and let it grow!! plus u'll smoke gt's prior to 04' which is always awesome!LOL or u can be a loan shark and charge people high ass interest to make up for the money u didn't wanna spend!!haha j/k

:crazy
thats what i did suggest?

I just want to throw in my 2 cents. I once asked the same question you asked, and got back the same "gears, exhaust, tunner" answer, and i got all that stuff and was not impressed with any of it. I strongly wished i would have just saved up and bought that 4.2 to start with, i reccomend you do the same. But if you dont want to spend that much, i am currently in the process of porting and polishing my heads, and intake, and getting a new cam, and should be done in less than a week. I am hoping this will make a larger improvement than my previous mods, and i will make a post on it when i finish to let you along with everyone else know of my results. I suggest you wait and read that post and consider it in your options of upgrades.

ive yet to hear or see anyone not impressed with 3.73 and deffinitly not 4.10s

as for a tune, i seriously doubt you got a dyno tune on your car.

anyway

look at it this way for your mods...if you want a s/c or turbo get that NOW!
IMO this is wat made me choose turbo before 4.2L

you get the 4.2L its nice, beating stock GT depending on your motor evne lightly modded ones

you then get your s/c or turbo and supporting mods boost 20psi and thats it...from there you have no more fun

get your s/c or turbo NOW. have fun with it at 4 psi, then upgrade your fuel have fun with it at 5-10psi. then when you got money get the 4.2L and have more fun
its like going straight from 9th grade to 12th grade in 1year you have fun for 1year instead of 4 years

i'll have fun for a 3-4month with 4psi maybe 5-6 then have fun with 10psi for longer

as for my opinion to the choice on turbo or s/c

if you not aiming for over 400rwhp
the s/c is a better way to go
much easier to deal with, and kits come with much more, and are more "full".
ive had to make a list so i dont forget wat i need to order...and i think im still missing one part...i'll find out in 2-3weeks
