Ik the general consensus is 4.10's with the auto trans but what about with boost. Is a 3.73 a better choice? Just don't wanna do anything twice
usually 3.73s or 3.55s for f/i cars.whats the general opinion for turbo'd cars?
Depends on the setup.whats the general opinion for turbo'd cars?
If your not getting a stall soon, definetley get 4.10's. Depending on how you like to drive, think about 4.30's too. I was thinking 4.30's with a 28" drag radial to DD on. And then 28" tires for the track.I don't plan on getting a stall anytime soon so I'm not to sure what I'm gonna run yet but right now it's stock
quite a few ppl with f/i setups have said that very thing a few are going From 4.10s down to 3.73s or 3.55s that speaks for itself imo.I run 3.73's but really thinking of going to 3.55's... I like 4th too much.
Thats the issue I was having. When I trapped at 117mph I was on stock tire size, going through the traps around 6400rpm. Probably didnt let out til 6500rpm. Thats why I went to 3.73s. And I like being able to hit 130mph at 6300rpm in 4th.Love the 4.10 on the street. Kind of sucks that i can only pull to 110mph at redline on the street tires. I'll be running it at the track this Friday on a drag radial if weather permits. The 26.1 BFG DR should allow for 114mph at 6000rpm. If you dont plan on pushing it past 375rwhp in the near future then go 4.10.
see that doesn't appeal to at all only 110 hmm, most of the racing around here is roll racing/ highway... im also autoLove the 4.10 on the street. My street tire is a BFG KDW II 255/40/17 which is 25.2" tall. Stock tire is 25.7". My BFG drag radials are 26.1". So on street tires only 110mph by 6000. I have not ran the car at the track yet so my shift light is still set at 5800rpms and the rev limiter is at 6150 for the street. At the track I'll probably shift at 6000 and bump the rev limiter to 6250rpms to have enough for 4th gear. I don't feel comfortable revving it higher than that. At 6200rpms with the drag radials the car should be good up to 116mph, which is no where near what my trap will be. I doubt I'll trap any higher than 112mph.110mph at 6000. What do you shift at? Also 3.73s at 6000rpm hits 122mph. Pete (my tuner) brought mine up to 6500rpm, he told me i should shift around 6300-6400rpm. Which I do, with the 4.10's, I was able to hit about 119mph at 6400rpm.
