I recently bought a throttle body off an 01 f150 (I think) because I was told it was 69 or 70mm. I went to install it and I put the f150 and my tb (which was still on the car) head to head. They are the same size on the part where the air inlet tube attaches. So my question is because one side is the same but the other is bigger, will I see any gain in performance?

Hell, try it. What will it hurt? U already bought it. Easy enough to just take it off if you dont like it. I can say you are the first I've heard of doing this.

I have the same TB on my car......except it came from Ford Racing. Basically, it is a factory 70mm off of a 5.4L (should have "5.4" cast into the housing somewhere). It looks like all they did was over-bore it from the back side and install a larger throttle plate. There's a small shoulder about an inch in front of the throttle plate where they stopped the bore.

I was disappointed when I first saw it, but I've ran it for several years and it works great....and it's OEM quality. As for performance, I did notice a difference in throttle modulation and it seems to rev better on the top end. Realistically, you won't notice much difference with any brand of TB, especially on a stock to mild engine or if you still have the factory plenum. I'm sure a good aftermarket 70mm unit would flow better, but if you don't need it, it doesn't matter much. Go ahead and install it, it will be a slight improvement. If it makes you feel better, remember that Ford sells the same unit as a performance upgrade.

omg don't put that thing on there . its a 60mm just like the one on your mustang . go with a 70mm from trickflow or equal value . just my 2 cents
Like I said the opening is the same but the other side is bigger

I hear ya. I picked it up for 25 bucks so if I dont like it I could sell it and make my money back. There are a few people on here that have done it too.

I was under my hood earlier about to swap my tb when I remembered that I needed to replace my thermostat seal. I noticed that it took quite a bit of force to get the bolt off and all of a sudden it gave and the bolt was in two. There is some sort of sensor bolted to it so I assume I need the bolt in one piece. What are my options?

sensor? there should be no sensor on the thermostat housing. it should be 2 bolts on the (if looking into the engine bay from the front bumper) front right side, 1 long bolt and one shorter (i believe might be two long bolts) . Should be no sensor just a radiator hose comming to the t-stat housing . which it being aluminum id be cautious of drilling or heating it to remove. maybe im misunderstanding what you broke

You got it. On the right bolt there is this sensor looking thing.

I took this pic off google. What Im talking about is I broke the bolt on the bottom in the pic. That gray plastic thing with a wire coming out is what Im talking about.

I found out its a noise supressor for the radio. Dont need it so I should be good but still need help getting the rest of the bolt out of the coolant crossover.
