Ok So I am gonna do this myself (well, myself and another forum member) and I dont have the special tools, and dont really want to rent them if I dont HAVE to.
I know I have seen several people say you dont need the compressor with NSR cams, and I would think that is true.
I am going to use some hose instead of the wedge tool. Plus I am going to have someone there to help, he can hold the gear so nothing moves too, as a backup.
SO, that leaves me with a couple questions.
1. If I orient the motor like it says in the hot rod install writeup (the one with the eyeball seering green background) so that there is only tension on 3 of the followers, cant I just slowly back all the bolts on the caps out, evenly, till there is enough tension gone to just remove the caps?
2. When I put the cams back in, can I just start the bolts by hand, then slowly crank them down a couple turns at a time, till everything is seated and TQd?
Basically, how does it work, as far as getting the cams out and back in, without the spring compressor. I know I have seen enough people say you dont need them, to know that it can be done.
Forgive any massive stupid mistakes here, I am half asleep and just wanted to get this up here before I go to bed.
