I got a $100 Jegs giftcardcard for Xmas and now Im torn between which part to buy. Im looking at putting the money towards either a nice Taylor battery relocation kit or a MSD Launch Master (2Step). The ultimate goal is to help out my 60ft times next season. Im pretting much just looking for input on these 2 mods as they are about the same price. Tires will be ET Streets, also my mod list is in my garage section if that helps.

Buy the two step if you have the extra money to replace the axles that you're going to break. The two step helped tremendously with my consistency and snapped my axle after 7 passes on drag radials. Two step hands down but prepare for the carnage.

Snapped axle...been there done that lol. How is the 2 step when on the street, any issues?

My msd 2 step can aggravate the **** out me when I'm on the highway and I want to slowly downshift from 5th to 4th/3rd and it holds the rpms and ugh its just a mess. I don't enjoy it on the street because every road is different and launching on the street is all driver in my opinion. If you have slicks and go to the track a lot then sure I'd recommend it. Do a straight up trade to someone for 100$ cash and go to a strip club /

Merry Christmas lol :llama

Zero as long as you keep your foot off the clutch. I see someone else had a complaint about downshifting...... if you set the two step limit high enough that's never an issue but I can see how it would be aggravating on a daily driver. I put about 1000 miles on mine a year and that's to and from the track.

Yea mine is pretty much a garage queen/ weekend warrior that sees track time pretty often in the summer, but it does see it's share of street driving too.

i have the msd 2-step and i have a push button for it right on my shiftknob and a safety kill switch so i dont accidently hit it on the street...so its baiscly non-existant while DDing

^ this sounds like something I'd like to do. Any tips on wiring that up?

Yeah, just put a toggle in line with the signal wire. When you don't wanna use the two step just flip the toggle off. I did this when it was initially wired in and decided it was in the way so I eliminated it.

I think a centri on sticky tires, needs a 2 step. I definitley would go 2 step all day.

I believe with the battery relocation, its not legal unless you have a switch outside of the car?? As far as NHRA..not 100% sure though

2 step FTW!! It is also very common to have it hooked to the e-brake for launching but obviously that throws perfect no lift shifts out the window haha

The MSD two step comes pre wired for either a 12V or ground signal...... it would make no sense to get the signal from the E brake. Connect it to the Cruise Control switch on the clutch pedal assembly and the clutch actuates it.
