Well, I have GAP insurance, so if I owe $0.00 at the end, I guess Ill look at a 5.0

If you owe $20,000 on your car, but its only worth $15,000 and you total it, Your insurance only pays the "Value" of your car. So you have to pay off the extra $5,000 out of pocket. ALWAYS have GAP insurance if you owe more than your car is worth. I turned in a brand new Mercedes to get my Mustang, so i had negative equity. I owe more to the bank than what the insurance company will give me.

Dude, GAP insurance may just save your ass...I had that on my last car and I would have been bond without it.
And look on the bright side, if it IS totaled, UPGRADE! If it ISN'T totaled, UPGRADE all the stock parts to aftermarket!!

He better not say **** at the next safety brief, my wife is the only other person to drive mine, if someone needs to drive it to "check" something I will ride with them.. man good luck dude, I would have killed him...

I really couldn't be to mad, i let him drive it. Lesson learned. but yeah, he's my CPT. he feels bad and im driving his BMW in the mean time.

Its good you are being so seemingly positive about it. It could be a lot worse and as long as your buddy walked away from it OK, theres really no reason to be over the top angry. Things can be replaced, people cant. I rear ended a lady in my friends truck and the first thing he asked was if I was ok and said not to worry about the truck. Granted, I didn't do much damage to it, but he didn't even ask at the time.

I only get mad about things if i think it can change the situation. He wasnt being crazy, just driving. No one was hurt and i got some sweet pictures from it. Hes covering the deductible and Insurance will fix the car. not much to be mad about. When i walked up to it i laughed, i said "well, i asked u not to scratch the rims, and you didnt". Ive been blown up so many times that when **** happens and everyone is ok, we laugh about it. I think explosions take the edge off lol.

That's a really good idea to set the rev limiter at 2k and top it out at 45mph. I like that idea...just never thought to do it. I never take it to a shop for work because the people who work there...they see my car and just start drooling. I can see the smug look on their face but some **** just has to be done like the inspection. Other than that, I do all the work myself.
Where can I get info on how to set the rev/top speed limiter? I've got the SCT X3 handheld tuner.

just hook it up and go to upload a tune, instead of going to keep options, go to adjust options... opens the door for a lot of different stuff, lol

This. 2 grand is more than enough rev to get you to 45 mph, the speed limit for any road around here.
My friend Carl and I do all my work. The only time my car has been to the shop was for warranty work, or when I needed TPMS sensors put in. Oil changes don't count, because I drive the car in and out. Plus I can hear it from the waiting room. Go ahead, bounce it off the limiter. I'd be out there so fast...

Yea, the gears I had done by a performance shop...that bugged me out like no other. I just sat...stewing at work for hours. Couldn't get **** done that day.
