Looks great! The only thing I wanted to point out is this:

The crossbar is also removable, so my kids can ride in the back.
I'm fairly certain that a removable crossbar isn't NHRA legal. Just a heads up to keep you from being hassled when it comes time to tech.

It doesn't look like much was done tonight, but the whole console got wired, and all the switches were installed. I had to cut the console for the new shifter. The shifter is missing the handle and the shifter cover in the pic.

All the wiring is done! Just need to put a battery in and test everything. All that's left is finishing the interior, putting the Powermaster 140 amp alternator on, and wiring it, making and installing the tranny lines to the cooler, and sticking the exhaust on. And now I don't get to work on it for a week! Argh!

Wow I just read this whole thread from the beginning.I had a few of the same issues but I can't believe you had so many issues with the clutch linkage...I am running pretty much the exact same drivetrain in my 68 and it has all worked out great for me..My only issues with the Z bar block adaptor piece was due to it not fitting the scattershield..Just some minor tweaking and everything was good...I am really interested to see how your car reacts to the auto trans..I know mine would be quicker as well but like you said you will lose streetability with the automatic...I don't ever plan on putting a cage in mine either so I guess I will just shoot for low 11s and be happy.

Well we've had all this unseasonably warm weather all winter, and I got back home last light, and was planning on going to get the turd tonight. Now it's decided to sleet and snow, and the guy that did my cage lives about 60 miles away, so I'm not going to attempt to trailer it home. It's supposed to be crappy thru tomorrow, and then I have a trip to palm springs tues-thurs, so I may not even get it till Friday now. Just my luck.
