So as the title reads this is my first project ever, this is actually my second post to the website i believe. It's been a while, i've been a.w.o.l. I also saw your e-mails about being missed on here so thought i'd come back :p. Anyway im going to post a few pics of the destruction here. Do believe the car was in worse condition when i barely got a hold of it. The car a.k.a as shelly is going to the body shop friday to get some welding done hopefully this rain dies down. After all that work is done I have actually been reading some of the threads on this classics forum and decided to give the car's engine compartment a full cleaning myself using gregski's way with the wire wheel and all that good stuff so if you're reading this thanks for the tip on that. I have all the parts that are missing here and new parts including suspension and all that good stuff so im guessing im on the right track. Other than that im open to suggestions here and how to go about this. I have realized its going to be a big project and going to be in need of help so feel free to add your suggestions. Thanks

excuse the mess in the background...

What kind of plans do you have build wise? Have you already decided on a color and are you keeping the motor that is there or building a different one?

Looks like a good start to a project :yes

Color wise not yet that far into the thought but as to the engine yes going to keep that 302 it works well had it turned on before i removed water pump, cover, etc. I actually just recently removed the inner fenders along with the radiator support. Unfortunately it does look like someone stole part of my car now but hey paid 900 for this piece of american legend cant complain too much. Thanks for the optimism blue67

Sorry as for the build wise im just trying to just go for that classic vibe with power under the hood. keep it as original as i can, but not sure yet might have some change of plans along the way.

yea surprisingly its all intact. the interior isn't in bad shape at all the only thing falling apart is the top of it. I think that center console is going to go though since its going to be sex changed into a T-5. Or can i keep the console and have the T-5 installed?

With a little modifications you should be able to keep it. The consoles were available with the 4 speed manuals factory. So fitting a T5 shifter in there shouldn't be a big problem.

A little update here california weather finally decided to show itself out here we got sun and all that so it was a good day unfortunately didn't get the car out and into the body shop but i had time to remove the main wiring harness and that good stuff. Proud to say all original wiring looks perfect of course old age happens but a good cleaning and that stuff looks no older than 20 years old. Im thinking of getting that painless wiring harness for it, but i will most likely keep the original wiring just in case i think of doing an all original restoration on it. Also got that engine and tranny out! Wasn't as bad as i expected. Here are a few pics of it not much of a change but its a start.

Been a while eh? For those interested the car is finally at the body shop! getting the front end done squared off blasted and lizard skinned up! Got caught up with some new hobbies that set me back bought myself a toy and took it to the shooting range and on the bad side another set back my dog got injured and that vet bill wasnt cheap but other than that stuff seems to be on track except im going to have to wait a little longer for my drum to disc conversion. its all good though slowly but surely ill post pics of the car within a week. excited for that. Pony is finally getting some resto done!
