does anyone have any link on some that are compatible with our cars
or can give me some tips ive never done this

good tutorial wold be usefull

Do you have an auto? As long as your auto any local stereo shop or Best Buy will have one they can install in a few hours. If your car is a manual you have to jerry rig some stuff to get around your neutral safety switch and I would not recommend it. There's always that one time you forget to take it out of gear.

Buy a viper system from best buy and the install is fairly cheap, and you risk the chance of you dorking something up.

Oh **** thattt, that doesn't sound right at all.

I install remote starts at my dealer, however they're all oem ford ones, i've never done anything aftermarket. It usually takes a little over an hour to put them in, a little more for lincolns. but no reason for a $250 labor charger. try going to abcwarehouse or something.

I have the opposite question...
My car has a remote start, but no keyfobs and I want to remove it. I never could justify letting the car just sit there and waste gas.

Reason I want to remove it is so I can use a standard Ford keyfob to open the doors. Only way I can do it now is key on driver side as passenger side has no keyhole, and they tend to freeze rather easily.

just get a ford key fob and program it

put a key into the igniton then cycle back and forth from on to accesory sort of like reving a motorbike 10 times till the car honks then press the lock button on your fob

anyways bottled 2v wont pats interfere with the remote start up

best buy wants 250 labor only...........**** that
lol I was quoted $400 for an install back in 2010 for a remote start kit by one of the smaller audio shops not best buy I dropped the Idea period after hearing that I figured I could save that cost of labor and the cost of the kit and just simply go through the small labor of turning the key when i got in lol. Its crazy what some shops charge for various things.

I don't like when you have to leave a key in the car, close to the ignition, to have remote start. Asking for trouble... But seriously I do want to have it, it can get cold as fawk by me.

i got a viper remote start on my car kinda sucks cuz i dont have the saftey neutral switch thing, so i have to hit the brake, pull up the ebrake and hit the aux button the remote to set it to start up in the morning. and i have to have an extra key inside the car for pats

Yes pats can be disabled in the tune, and there is a part to bypass the neutral safety switch but it is a bitch to find. I don't have the part name anymore I must have deleted the bookmark :(

Tried that with one of the remotes from my 02 Crown Vic. No go.

Well for newer cars they have a little ring that you put around the Ignition by the pats receiver, the. When you hit the remote start it activates that ring with the pats info to start it. I'd assume they have something similar for new cars. I'm not sure how you'd get by it with an older car like ours.

I feel ya on the cold KS winters man. I had a small business called auto FX install my remote start for me. He drives to your house and installs the system in your driveway. He quoted me $150 installed, but had to install an extra $40 piece of equipment to trick the ignition. Nice guy though.

So $190 installed and he came to me. I was close enough he didn't charge me extra to come to my location. I'm not sure if he'd come out to Wichita, but just wanted to throw out the option for ya. Maybe you guys could meet halfway or somethin.

PM me if you want to know more.
