lol I was quoted $400 for an install back in 2010 for a remote start kit by one of the smaller audio shops not best buy I dropped the Idea period after hearing that I figured I could save that cost of labor and the cost of the kit and just simply go through the small labor of turning the key when i got in lol. Its crazy what some shops charge for various things.best buy wants 250 labor only...........**** that
Tried that with one of the remotes from my 02 Crown Vic. No go.just get a ford key fob and program it
put a key into the igniton then cycle back and forth from on to accesory sort of like reving a motorbike 10 times till the car honks then press the lock button on your fob
anyways bottled 2v wont pats interfere with the remote start up
Well for newer cars they have a little ring that you put around the Ignition by the pats receiver, the. When you hit the remote start it activates that ring with the pats info to start it. I'd assume they have something similar for new cars. I'm not sure how you'd get by it with an older car like ours.just get a ford key fob and program it

I feel ya on the cold KS winters man. I had a small business called auto FX install my remote start for me. He drives to your house and installs the system in your driveway. He quoted me $150 installed, but had to install an extra $40 piece of equipment to trick the ignition. Nice guy though.I don't like when you have to leave a key in the car, close to the ignition, to have remote start. Asking for trouble... But seriously I do want to have it, it can get cold as fawk by me.
