Tried tinting my windows a while back and the tint I purchased was horrible.. It was almost a green tint when looking from outside (I immediately tore it off and returned what I hadnt opened yet).. Just wondering if anyone knows of any good brand of tint that is a true black tint? Im going 20-35%

Yeah thats why i decided to do it myself.. I had a shop around here do my last car for 275 with a lifetime guarantee and a week later it bubbled in little areas and they wouldnt do it again.. I found a 2nd shop that I was going to try with this car and they said 300 + lifetime guarantee.. I just dont want to pay that much in labor cost when tint really isnt all that expensive and it's not extremely hard to do if you just take your time doing it

just go to wal mart and pick up 2 rolls of black magic i think tint..about 20$. its not bad tint for the price, then take the car to a shop for the back glass, its rough. watched the guy do my back glass and he used a heat gun on the outside and formed it to the window then put it inside. only paid 50$ for the rear so about 70$ in the whole car and looks good.

The only difficult window to tint is the rear one. The others are fairly easy.
IIRC american muscle sells precut tint. Do the doors and 1/4 windows yourself and then have a shop do the rear.

I do window tint on the side. I order my tint online from an independent wholesale store. But i used to use the auto zone and Walmart tint . It works fairly well but for the back glass it doesn't mold quite as easy. But if you take your time and use a heat gun it is possible. Do a search on you tube and you can watch and learn how to do a 1 peice back glass. Even though your not going ti be able to buy tint tall enough to do the whole back glass in one peice at wally world or auto zone. You'll have to order that.

I tinted all of my windows and the only one that was a real pain was the rear the sides arent hard especially if you take em out of the window track and if youve never done any tint before i would buy an extra roll bc you will stick it to its self at least once lol and experience says it looks great for the front windshield to be tinted to just keep it above 30% adn it wont effect your driving but cops dont really like it that much

buy precut window tint off ebay, makes the job a lot easier and it gives you a straight edge at the top and side of your windows. i bought some and did my 4 side windows 2% and it looks like a pro did it. leave the back for the shop tho, tried it and ****ed it all up so i ripped it off lol. ebay tint isnt bad either its black, not purple, green, blue etc.

Well keep in mind I have a convertible so the rear window is a lot smaller.. But yeah I can see how its going to be a pain.. when i got my estimate through one shop they told me it would be a pain for them lol.. but thanks for the replies ill probably just go ahead and give walmarts another shot maybe I just got "defective tint" last time.. it was the black magic stuff but was a green color lol.. ill hope for better luck this time

yeah ive got some thinking to do I might go with precut off of ebay.. is it someone who has an ebay store? The only thing im trying to watch out for is getting some random color tint

i did my own with the pre cut window tint on ebay. DONT. the sides turned out good, and i messed up the quarter's myself, but the cheap quality tint would NOTTTT heatshrink to the rear glass so its got so many bulges it ain't even funny. works, but looks shitty.

Moral. good quality tint and practice, or pay to get it done.
