Looking into it for those of you who dont know.
Would like it before tune
Want to try and find a used kit 500$ MAX

Need all basics w/ 75-100 shot
Purge
heater
switches
TPS
Window
Lines
ect ect

dallas auto parts classifieds "nitrous" - craigslist

If anyone with knowledge see's a full kit that will work, or something close
that I can buy other parts to, let me know.

Im bumping up to 24# injectors for my 4.2 project as well FYI

Also, the shrauder valve or wtf ever it is, I dont have it on my 04 ...

I will need to do something like this:

2004 Mustang v6 Nitrous Help - Ford Mustang Forums

Still considering this though. Seems awfully complicated to install. Cutting fuel lines is not first thing in my book Either ...

Zex seems to be the best for fuel adapters actually they have a special part for those of us w/o that valve...
This site has alot of info on it:

http://www.stangtv.com/forum/v6-mustang-upgrades-zex-nitrous-k-5126.html

actually, NE has the same adapter: http://www.nitrousexpress.com/product-details.php?id=455
best kit would be: http://www.nitrousexpress.com/product-details.php?id=1467
But together, thats 425$

Still need a window switch, purge, blow off ...

NE guy on Facebook saying to email him when I said I wanted a kit, but its to expensive, so i sent him this:

Hello, its Michael Wells from facebook.
Had some internet issues, I dont know if the message from earlier sent or not...

Basically, im on a serious budget. $500 is my max at this point.

Ive looked at:
Kit
Nitrous Express Next Generation Nitrous Oxide Systems PROTON PLUS NITROUS SYSTEM W/ 5LB BOTTLE 373
Accessory package
Nitrous Express Next Generation Nitrous Oxide Systems GEN X ACCESSORY PACKAGE FOR EFI 364

Would also need

Adapter
Nitrous Express Next Generation Nitrous Oxide Systems 1999 - 2004 4.6/5.4L 2V FORD BILLET FUEL RAIL ADAPTER (COMPLETE KIT WITH BOLTS AND 2 O-RINGS) 52
Window switch
Nitrous Express Next Generation Nitrous Oxide Systems NX DIGITAL RPM WINDOW SWITCH (Now for all ignition types - No RPM chips required) 174
Purge
Nitrous Express Next Generation Nitrous Oxide Systems NITROUS PURGE SYSTEM W/ D-4 MANIFOLD 129

Thats $1092.00 Right there alone ... twice want Id like to spend. So ive been looking for something used.

And seriously 500 will have to be my max ... If I did that, ive have to find a lil extra money for my dyno tune as it is, so I dont want to go any higher then that.
I doubt you can do anything for me there though. But I figured Id share, and hear your input.

See if we can work something out ;)

Ok guys

Stage two of Mike's build will begin soon I hope.

NITROUS.

Still got a few things to look into before I head into this project. Trying to get all my reasearch done early.

Ive seen lots of good deals on nitrous stuff so I needed to get the knowledge rolling.

Going to use a basic fogger kit like NX proton or Zex w/ the box. W/ a Traction switch and FPSS will be used as well.

I plan on getting a SVT focus pump installed to cover my ass. Dyno tune will be done.

Im going to run a 100 shot.

Few questions though.

What wires will I need to tap into for say, a window switch rpm? Any other wires I need to know to splice for?

What will I need to set a FPSS at if im using an SVT fuel pump?

What spark plugs should I run; on that note, I do plan on asking for two tunes. A street tune thats less aggresive, and a race tune for the nitrous. Should I run seperate spark plugs for this ? What plugs and what should they be gapped at. I understand a copper core 1 step colder is what i need.

Sooooooo many words...

For the window switch you splice a bunch of wires, you may need a Tach adapter to clean up the single. You should also not need to cut any fuel lines, you simple attach your nitrous fuel line to the shrewder value ,which is on your fuel rail which is near the TB more to the drivers side. If you dont have it just most kits just reccomend using a T in the fuel line. I have a T that came with my kit that I would be glad to sell you cheap, but I am not home till late march. Spark plugs NGK TR6 work fine gapped at .034. I would just keep the same plugs for both tunes, no need to change.

For installation, Nitrous was one of the easier things for me. The lines, solenoids and mounting are not hard, just takes some time to do it clean and make sure everything it routed fine. If you havent done wiring before , this is the more difficult part by far, but it just takes patience and looking for the right wires.

As far as price goes, you should be able to get everything for 500 not 1000. Used kits are one of the best used parts for sale, people are constantly taking the parts off with little use. A full used setup could easily be had for under 400. If your looking for new items check out DynoTune - DynoTune-Nitrous systems, Purge kits, Nitrous Bottle heaters and more!, quality parts without the price of paying for the Brand name.

Too Bad you don't Live in near PA man :baller:

Your slice one of the wires off the coil pack but your will need a tach adapter . For FPSS maybe get like a 30 psi one. I think our fuel pressure is like 35 psi, but I could be wrong. If I was home and not a state over, I could take pictures and help your alot more.

Do we have the same fuel system as a GT ? I know we have the same fuel pump but what about lines and what not ? Obviously not the fuel rail.
What Im really trying to figure out is the fuel pressure. If I do a nitrous kit, what is my fuel pressure to calculate the jetting, If upgrade to the SVT pump what will my fuel pressure be then. Im thinking Ill run an SVT to be safe but that would probably change my pressure so it would then change which fuel jet to run ... confusing **** ...

I am like 95% positive our FP is 35psi. Your bottle pressure should be at 1100 when your judging your jet size. DynoTuneNitrous.com
Changing the fuel pump shouldn't change fuel pressure, it just allows it to substain 35 psi with more demand on it. For what size shot, that is up to you. I think 100 shot will be fine, especially since you are getting it dynotuned witch makes a world of a difference. From what I can tell your setup is going to be solid, get a tune for All motor and 100 shot and you'll be set. Nitrous gets me out of the hole fast, if you can get grip with the high stall and nitrous you'll easily be in the 12's.

Buy me a ticket to texas and ill hook it up for your :), it might take a big chuck out of your nitrous budget haha

havnt we talked about this already :p
Smart ass. I still have the question of what to set my FPSS at.

so 35 possibly. Ill plug it in to the livelink again soon and monitor the fuel pressure to find out what Im running for sure.
But say I am at 35psi. Does that mean I should set the switch to 35 or what ?

And Ive been reading up and looking at as many pics on setup's for these cars as I can. The info isn't to easy to find, but its there.
But Ive been playing with measurement and stuff and have a pretty good idea of how I'll run things. Not 100% worried about keeping it stealth, but Id like to keep it as hidden as possible. And I think I know how I want to run it.
Its just a little harder to hide with the windstar intake...

have you tried calling someone and asking how it should be set according to the fuel pressure? i would think it would need to be set a little lower than what your fuel pressure really is. you need to datalog and find out what your fuel pressure is. mine is around 40.

my brother in law is selling his whole kit for 225.. lol.
Which is why buying used kits is great. As long as the lines and solenoids are in good shape, the kit will work. Its not like buying used turbos and superchargers and having to worry about shaft play and such. I would say used nitrous kits are one of the best used parts you can get, people are constantly putting them on and taking them off to go a different route with there car. My kit was used and owner claimed he only used it 3 time. You can also try Craigslist and get new nitrous parts for cheap because people but the kits and never end up installing them.

And I think he may be right about 40 psi for the fuel pressure.

You should take pictures and do a write-up to contribute to the community, if there really is a lack of solid information on the subject. I'm sure everybody would appreciate it a helluvalot.
