Well its been a while since I've posted here but you guys help me out more then any other forum so im asking you guys. I finally saved enough for a non intercooled vortech and it's on its way. I also got some 39# injectors coming aswell.
so here's where I need help.
1. How long will my stock fuel pump fees the motor with just the injectors. Im not planning on going over 400rwhp and keeping the kit at base boost levels
2. Do I need an iat relocation for the kit? I bought a tuner kit so I don't think it comes with one, or if I even need it?
3. How good is brenspeeds tune for these kits? I know they're popular but I don't want as much assgresiveness as I do safety.

Thanks guys!!

You will need to upgrade your fuel with the install. At least a KB boost a pump.
I put the Gt500 fuel sysem in my car when I installed my Techco blower.

As far as a tune if you can dyno tune it and have the fuel mapped that will be the best and safest route possible.

Good luck and congrats.

they recommend at least a KB BAP.
If you want safety and reliability then go with the complete kit Brenspeed recommends.
Mustang GT Vortech Supercharger V3 Brenspeed Package (05-10)

Looks like you will need the IAT relocation kit too.

heard nothing but good things from brenspeed tunes. Although make sure you have all the supporting mods that they use and recommend for their tunes.

talk to jeremy at s&h performance he sell drop in fuel pump kits with upraded wiring for around 275.00...with your 39lb injectors it should be good for around 450-500 rwhp..you can find him on s197forum.com..

Congrats buddy. How much you want for te CnL?

@silver I pm'd him and he actually said at the power level ill be at all I would need is to upgrade the wiring to the fuel pump. He sells the kit for 35$ shipped and said with 39# injectors id be able to run 400rwhp no problem. Sound legit? Reduces duty cycle by 10%
@ddrock it's yours as long as I don't need the larger maf for the install.

YAHOOOOOO! Ok bud just let me know. I need to make it out on Saturday night agian....work has been killing me :/

You will be fine with a Kenne Bell boost a pump. I run one and my car is completey safe @ 471 rwhp. I ran 429 rwhp on the plain stock pump with no probs. I would suggest you bite the bullet and carry the car to a dyno tuner instead of running a email tune. Email tunes are usually ok to get you started, but all cars are different. For instance say your fuel pump was weak. You could load up a email tune and lean out- frying your motor. Not to mention it's nice to know exactly how much power you car is making.

Fuel is not an area you want to skimp on to try to save a few bucks.

at the mild boost and staying at or right under 400 you should be good with you stock pump & upgraded wiring, but i also think it's better safe than sorry. just change your pump for a different one that will support a bit more power than you're going to have. either a bap or upgrade the single pump is what i'd want

ok awesome thanks for the input guys. ill take it over to RET for a tune then. ill have have check and see what the duty cycle is on my fuel pump while hes tuning it and if need be ill throw on a BAP.
OH YEAH! am i oging to need one heat range colder plugs? i figured i would but alot of people on s197forum say you can regap the stock plugs if you have the 05-early 08 set up

I know my installer used my C&L MAF when he installed my Vortech. I was hoping to sell it but whatever.

And BTW, no way will you be satisfied at 400 for very long.

You will need 39lb injectors and a BAP min with the tuner kit. IAT relocation is a bonus and will help out with tuning. I recommend a dyno tune for the vehicle. Much more accurate. You spend more but its your car. Rather do it once ya know.

For the BAP, check out the new Vortech BAP. 17v fixed at all times and stupid easy to install. No trying to adjust like the KB one.

when it comes to boost, think.... "what can I do to be safe." and everything else is worth it in the end. Just my 2 cents

Yeah I ordered the iat relocation and hto's today. Im waiting for a BAP to show up on the forums but ill check out that vortech BAP. My tuner (RET) said he wont do it without these -_-

One more question on the install... when I talked to brenspeed and the place I bought the kit from they both assured me the only cutting/drilling/modifying would be the iat relocation. However, I keep reading that you have to trim down bolts where the mounting braket hooks up and ill need a dremel. Can anyone shed any light on this? Again its only a non-intercooled kit.

I'm gonna go ahead and sub this thread. I just got a V3 kit and I have a lot of questions too. I'm gonna piggyback off yours until I get my questions straight.

what questions tax.
Just the regular stuff: what plugs? What do I need to be looking for? Do I have everything I need? It's all new to me. I bought a complete kit with intercooler and all. I only needed, plugs and a BAP. All I need now is plugs I think.

maybe start with exactly what it came with.

plugs: autolite hto not possitive on the gap, but i think it's going to be around .32 (i could be completely off though)

fuel: a bap will work just fine with your stock short block, but if you can afford it now i would say just go for the GT500 dual pumps. another option would be to just replace the actual pump itself from your stock hat w/ a aftermarket pump that will support the power your stock short block can handle. doing the bap is easier though

Yeah that's what I'm doing, but that doesn't mean I'm not questioning. LOL I just wanna see where other people have made changes. I bought the kit used so it has some extras too. We'll see how it goes when it's install time. I got the BAP already. I'll step up to the GT500 set up when money permits. I've spent a lot so far and still have some stuff to do.
